We've had a good debt repayment year - given that this year - we also bought 2 new double beds and bedding, 2 new electronic recliner chairs, various desks and other pieces of furniture. Upgraded our kitchen counters. Did some decorating and got the patio done. What we've achieved probably wouldn't have been possible without reduced spending linked to home working etc, no real holiday - only 2 days away in the entire year!
I think I finally see the finish line back in sight - and want to get there before I lose momentum. All being well, I hope to repay circa £2.9K from January paydays for me and DH. That still allows us around £2.2K to live on - so I know we are fortunate. We will need to stick really closely to the budget and not spend extra on food. etc. This also assumes our eating out and fuel costs stay low. I'm trying to get food deliveries twice per week again - as groceries are one of my biggest over-spending areas.
I've had a very relaxing day. I've written a few more thousand words of my latest book - 3 chapters written now. Around 27 more to go. Does make me wonder what I could achieve writing wise if I had more time - although it's partly the known deadline of return to work a week today that spurs me on. I am hoping if I get far enough in - that it will help me continue even once I am back working. Need to press on with reformatting my first book for Am**** too... slow going. That's another thing I need to just press through and get done - hopefully that way I will actually start earning instead of paying for my desired writing career.

You've made good use of your circumstances savings and have a lot to show for it. Things won't change overnight so you've a chance to make headway into your debt next year.
Maybe dedicate a set amount of time each day to write after this holiday.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

You've achieved so much this year. Good luck with the writing."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

Well I have set my pricing and uploaded my book. Let's hope the IT side of it went smoothly and that I haven't made gaping errors! Slightly worried that my e-book description formatting didn't work right - but will only know once it's live - or they let me know whichever! Apparently it takes about 72 hours to go live. So watch this space!!! Excited. 8 years in the making - finally launched. Tomorrow I will work on making my inst@ account better. My website is currently mothballed - as it was taking to much effort to resolve - and I was worried I was just using that to procrastinate further - so that can follow in due course. I've made my own cover for now - I can always upgrade to a paid one if and when I start writing money - or if it becomes apparent I won't sell without it. Will now carry on with writing other books.
I've made a token £8 payment to the target CC as we are still doing well money-wise. I've updated all our recent spends. We have groceries being delivered tonight. Hoping they still come despite the current snow and ice where we live. If they didn't we wouldn't be running out of food anytime soon LOL. Currently tucking into roast turkey and pork leftovers. Tasty.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
