Thanks MF, JWIL and Tahlullah. Well I gave up work early and promised my boss I would catch up early next week when I am due to be off. The weather was supposed to have broken by now - but too hot today too. I've been paid though so that's always nice. I've ordered a skip in the hope it encourages me to keep decluttering. I want to nip to the shop to take a parcel back but DH has my car and I don't like driving his and DS is out. That's cost me around £15 as it seems to be a prohibited item so very frustrating. 1k3a finally gave me the £40 back but have said I should call them. Confused!! the £20 gift voucher hasn't turned up yet so I don't know if it is about that.

Keep focused when going through things to fill the skip, it will be worth it.
How was your return a prohibited item, I didn't think there was anything that would justify the extra charge. Maybe have a chat with RM customer service and see what they say.
I don't think good wills can be done at the same time as a refund, it probably comes from a different account held by the company and they may need to confirm card details to do it.

Thanks MF. Well I did a little pruning in the garden and picked some more plums. I've sorted through my clothes with help from DD. Filled a bin bag for the skip and 2 for charity. I filled one bag of stuff that I hope to shrink into and put that back on the top wardrobe shelf. I now only have thing hungs up that I fit into so really pleased with that. There were more than I thought so that was encouraging too. I'm starting to change size in the right direction. Need to potentially go through DH's clothes next week too - but given that he hadn't worn 2 shirts yet that I bought him at Christmas I'm not sure how that's going to go. I certainly don't plan to let them go!! Also we all wear different clothes to the office to what we will if we stay home and the future feels unclear. May focus on his older t-shirts - as I do go through his stuff every 6 months or so anyway. (Easier than mine LOL). It has reinforced that other than underwear and perhaps shoes/boots neither he or I need more clothes.
DH has promised to fit a missing drawer in the kitchen early next week. Then hopefully we can touch up the paint and 'style' it. The grey and the white is more restful and contemporary than the beech was. I've got used to it more now. We still have space in our cupboards - even before the new cabinets come. We have completely emptied the 3 utility cupboard sections - so planning to move a double unit from the utility and put it in the garage and put open shelving in the utility instead to put washing baskets on. I bought some slimline ones with DD yesterday for £5 each at BnM
This week I've also bought a tripod light fitting from Am**** for £20 and then styled 2 lamp shades from HB by cutting a strip off and glueing it together (still need to do the glue bit). They were each 3 layer lamp shades - so now it is 5 with the biggest layer in the middle and then the 2 on either side shrinking. They were yellow which is a nice warm colour but to the middle I've added teal (sticky back plastic) to match in with the colour of my new chairs .I'm really pleased with the effect. I also bought new lights for our bedroom from BnM as we've broken some this year and have been making do. They were £13 each - and I bought a couple of lamp shades in a colour I preferred for £4 each.
It finally seems a bit cooler. DH is due to get his bike back in the morning. I'll need to move my car off the drive and sort the parcels. DD went to the gym. It wasn't too full so that was good for her. Still need to pack for going away. Really hoping we manage to clear the house of a load of stuff next week and that it and we all feel lighter again.

We ended up with a skip during lockdown (which we weren’t expecting) and it was great, we managed to get rid of so much stuff without having to faff around with the tip so hopefully you will be able to do the same.2

SH you are so creative. I love the sound of the lampshade you've made. I have a picture if it in my imagination and part of me would love to see a photo to prove myself right but I could, of course be completely wrong. The colour combination sounds gorgeous. Just before lockdown I went to a restaurant where the decor was similar colours and it looked really stylish.4

thanks Blackcats - when I've finished it I will send you a picture via pm. Thanks PF - yes just got up for the skip - I went for the middle size but now think I should have gone bigger. Oh well! Having brekkie and then need to take DH to get motorbike. Expecting the bill to be around £700. Sadly DH's car tax is due at the end of the month too and because it is an 06 plate it is due o be around £240!! Before we go away to our B&B, DH needs to do a piece of work - and really so should I - and then we can both sign off and not worry all of next week. Still need to pack.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

With the uncertainty about the office, keep them clothes in a box somewhere. That way
- if you are in, grab the box and put into circulation
- if not in, do a quick once over and keep a few as you never know what happens in the future, the rest can go to charity.
Well done on going through things, I know it wouldn't have been easy for you.
The lighting sounds good, it's hard to do something suitable for all year round to keep the room 'lifted', while matching your scheme, but you've nailed it with the colouring.
Hopefully no more vehicle related outgoings for a while!Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
Bill was £729. Ouch.
Away though now and it is beautiful and the room is huge with gorgeous views. Weather kind so far too. Ate in 2 pubs once inside and once out. All excellent social distancingAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
