How lovely to take B to the beach and have your chips and his sausage! It's little things like that the add a disproportionate amount of value to life.
I hope they can work out something to help you with your symptoms and the pension payment goes through quickly. Some employers allow an interim payment, which might be worth asking about if they keep you waiting.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I've also been thinking of you, @Onebrokelady & how we used to joke that we were the 'Spendy twins' in our pre-LBM lives. Hope you are ok. Best wishes for Christmas & New Year,

Hi everyone and Happy New Year. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas . I have been awol again due to being busy and lots of reading. I was aiming to be here yesterday for New Year's Day but the day got away from me. I decided to take the Xmas decs down instead of waiting until the 6th like I normally do. I wanted a clean slate for January and to clean the house 😀
Christmas was good but DD2 who I spent Christmas Day and Boxing Day with felt ill the whole time and it turns out she had covid 😳 I am so lucky I didn't catch it 🎉🍾🍾🎉 we still managed to have a good time but not a lot of the treats were eaten so I've got some bits left to finish off. DD1,SIL and my two DGSs came for the day on the 27th because that was the only day we could get together. They had a Nintendo switch games console for Christmas which they brought with them so we played that and some other games they got. It was good fun playing the computer games and I even won a couple of times.
In normal news my pension payment eventually came through on the 22nd of November and I thought I would be champing at the bit to pay off my mortgage but it took me a couple of weeks because I didn't want to spend any of it. I was enjoying seeing it in the bank 😀 I did pay it off eventually so I'm now mortgage free🎉🍾 I'm still paying rent but it's peanuts compared to what other people are paying. I now need to decide which jobs to get done on the house. The first one I've enquired about is replacing all my radiators because three of them leak, all of them are severely rusty in important places, one doesn't work at all and there isn't one in the bathroom. My boiler is due a service and I was so impressed with the company that installed my boiler that I've asked them to have a look when they do the service. I would have liked to have done them when I had the boiler replaced but couldn't afford it at the time. I think after that I will get the kitchen floor replaced and then possibly my gutters sorted. The gutters at least need cleaning out if not replacing I will see. I think that's all for the jobs I can't do. I'm still doing my bedroom which has been delayed due to me decorating at DDs 🙄 I am going to crack on with that next week.
I am loving only working two days a week it's been great so far. Every time I look at my rota and see how many days off II've got I feel really happy 😀 Im actually enjoying the days I am at work instead of dreading it. I wouldn't have thought dropping one day would make that much difference but it has to me.
My health has been up and down but I'm now back onto 5mgs of steroids for the next four weeks after having to go back up to 6mgs 🤞🤞🤞 it's ok I am trying to make sure I stay active and even on a bad day I will go for a walk because it makes me feel so much better.
Sometimes I have to accept that I have to take it easy though which is fine. I had a busy day yesterday so today I had to go back to bed for a couple of hours but I still got done what I wanted to when I got up I just have to pace myself
