I haven’t read The Salt Path yet…..it’s on my to do list.
Walking is definitely good for the health. I’ve been very frustrated not to be able to walk as much as I used to.
Hope the Occupational Health appointment went well for you .

Our energy bill was £300 for December too. I have found that I get the email saying the bill is ready, but I can't actually download it for another 24hrs for some reason, so that might have been what happened to yours. We are with Shell and they increased our dd to £250 back in October. Every month I go on the app and reduce the payment to the suggested minimum. Its down to £183 atm, and we are still £250 in credit.

Boots sound lovely. I need some new ones. The ones I am wearing are Read or Dead ones from the Schuh seconds website. Cost me about £15. (Retail for around £60ish i think) But I must have struck lucky when I got them as ever since I have never found anything I like in my size!
Possibly right, I was able to see it the next day . That's a good deal on boots, I've been looking for so long I'm glad I've found some now .

I read Raynor Winns books The Salt Path and The Wild Silence because I have been walking the south west coast path in sections since my retirement in 2018. I should hopefully finish this year and can say categorically that walking has improved my health 100% although I did not have a health condition anyway but doing a sedentary job and not finding time to prioritise keeping fit meant initially I couldn’t walk more than about 3 or 4 miles on the coast path which is very challenging in places. Now I don’t have any issue with a 10-12 mile stretch even with high ascents. It definitely helps my mental health and is very therapeutic.

    Hope the cough goes soon.
Wow well done on nearly completing the the Southwest coast path. I would love to do it n day 😊

wow, 10-12 miles is good going @enthusiasticsaver. I love walking and have signed up to do the Walk 100 miles in a year, but think I might struggle with 12 miles at a time.  Especially now as I'm full of cold...lol
Hope you feel better soon x

All three books  are good but The Salt Path is my favourite followed by the third book Landlines 😊
My appointment was ok. Nothing much has changed, she is letting them know I am fit for my job with my current adjustments in place 😊

I would really recommend it as a way of keeping fit and the views are amazing. I just have about 50 miles of North Devon to complete and the bit between Exmouth and Poole. I hope you get to do it one day.

  • Just catching up with you, so lovely to read that things are going well health wise apart from the annoying cough . How is your DDs flat purchase progressing , hoping it's stress free as these things can be . Love hearing all the book talk.
    Have a good Sunday.

The last couple of days have not been very good because B is poorly again 😢 she started being sick on Thursday and I thought she had just eaten something she shouldn't but she keeps shaking and is off her food . I managed to get her into the vet today and they have given her more anti sickness medication via an injection, that should help her feel better by tomorrow hopefully but she still won't eat and looks very sad. The vet today says he thinks her problems are being caused by something in her brain ( possibly a tumour ) and has said that if she doesn't pick up over the next few days she will need bloods to see of her kidneys and liver are ok if they are she will need a CT scan of her head to see if there is anything going on inside her brain causing her symptoms. He also said she very likely has dementia which is causing confusion 😢  I think we are going to have some tough decisions to make over the next few weeks if she doesn't pick up.

Im also not feeling very good today. I felt very tired at work yesterday but didn't feel too bad this morning but as the day has gone on I've started to get pain in my arms, neck shoulders and legs so I've had to take some painkillers. I only have paracetamol and brufen  so that will have to do. My steroid does has gone down to 12.5mgs so that could be why and I'm hoping it will calm down over the next few days but if not I will have to let my gp know. I also still have an awful chesty cough so that's not helping.

Im working a late tomorrow so don't need to get up early but I am on the ward so I'm hoping it's not too crazy 🤞

I’m sorry to hear that about B 🙁 I hope she’ll pick up. The downside of our dear fur babies getting older.

Also sorry to hear you’re not feeling great. Hope you feel better soon.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Sorry to hear that B is not well again. I hope you are ok tomorrow as well for your shift, nothing worse than being at work unwell.
