  • How naughty of your friend! But some people just love giving, and I assume having lost a sister, that is someone she can't buy for and see enjoying the gift, so maybe she is using you to fulfil that void (if that makes any kind of sense?) I wouldn't buy anything for her, you made a deal, but would graciously receive a gift from someone who obviously wanted to see me smile.

Ooh my mum always used to buy cherry liqueurs at Christmas, from what I remember they were lovely 😊

I’m glad your dad now has a diagnosis even if it’s not exactly good news, I’m pleased your sister was proved wrong.

I did a dementia awareness course at work and as part of it we were shown a short film from You Tube which was lovely and showed you can still go about your daily business with it. If I can find it, I’ll post the link.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I picked a bad day to go back to work 🥴 it was soooooooo busy we didn't stop, I was very relieved when 2pm arrived. Walked into town and managed to get all my shopping apart from the Elizabeth Shaw mints 😬

I came home had my tea walked B and collapsed in a heap. My left leg is throbbing and cold so not a good end to the day. I'm hoping it will be ok tomorrow 🤞hopefully I will sleep tonight

They are lovely and I'm the only one who likes them too 😀
It sounds a bit mad that I'm pleased my dads been diagnosed but it's good to know what you are dealing with and now we can all behave accordingly.

I went on a Dementia awareness course but it was years ago so I could do with doing another one really. Yes please a link  would be great if you do manage to find it 😊

  • I agree with you - dementia can ebb and flow and he may be able to respond to the book or at least to say what he'd like.

I found the Alzheimer's site useful even for people with non-Alzheimer's dementia.
I've been on a couple of the websites with support groups before we had a proper diagnosis, but I will go and have another look now I know which one he has.

I bought some cherry liquors from Aldi last Christmas and they were lovely…..not sure how they compare with M&S but I bought another box last week. Think they were £2.99
Well done for sticking to the rules of ‘no presents’
    Hope you enjoy work 👍
I will have to check out the Aldi ones, mind you the M&S ones are only £3.00 so not much in it. Work was a shock to the system 😬

She is very naughty but I've forgiven her now 😀 she is such a lovely person and I think she would actually feel bad if I now went out and bought her a present,I will spoil her on her birthday instead 😊

I’ll have to have a bit of a fish around tomorrow via the person at work who ran the course but will definitely post the link. I have a dementia friends badge I wear to show I can be approached for help.

  • Today's planned day out has been postponed until Saturday because DD2 is still not feeling well, she looks and sounds awful so I don't think she should be going anywhere, I told her that a couple days relaxing are what she needs and then maybe by Saturday she might feel a bit better 😊 there's nothing worse than being dragged out somewhere when you feel ill.
We were going to our local garden Center to have a look around, it's so pretty at this time of year and I like to go and look at the decorations. It will still be there on Saturday though so we will wait.

I haven't achieved much today so far apart from walking B and chucking in a load of washing so I need to get myself moving at some point, ifnothing else it will warm me up because I'm cold today 😟 I've got a T-shirt on and two jumpers plus a blanket and I'm just starting to warm up a bit now but my hands are cold 😟I might have to put my fingerless gloves on at this rate 🥶🥶

I also need to go out and sort out the 🐓but it's so cold I'm going to have to give myself a stern talking to to make myself go out there 😀her water might be frozen though so needs must.
