I've cut my meat down to under a quarter of what I used to eat, not that I ate a lot, but I have just replaced meat by veg type things.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1200

I still wear a mask every time I go shopping as DH is on the vunerable list. You would also be classed as vunerable now you are on steroids and I suspect that fact that you have been quite run down made it easier for you to catch anything as well. Think you should definitely ask your GP about antivirals now you are on steroids and get your booster as soon as you can once you are free of covid. As for people putting their hands over their mouths when they cough....no! They should be coughing into their elbow, so as not to spread germs onto their hands and then spread it everywhere. TBH, I think anyone who goes out with any sort of cough or cold should wear a mask, its just common sense and being responsible.

foxgloves said:Sorry to hear you have Covid again, @OBL. I bet it was that coughing woman on the bus. It's amazing how soon some of the basic anti-infection spreading measures (such a basic hygiene) have petered out since all the Covid rules ended. I was in the loo at a supermarket this week & out of the 3 of us members of the public in there, only me & one other woman washed our hands. The other...so 1/3 of us, didn't bother & went straight back out to do her shopping. Then yesterday, I read an online article from the Independ*nt about some scientists who had been gathering data on disease risk from various public surfaces & one of the highest-scoring for the presence of bacteria capable of causing d & v (so I'm thinking Noro) was self-checkout terminals in supermarkets! Ewwwww.....I always wash my hands thoroughly when I get home from shopping trips & this is exactly what the article recommended. I don't think I will use a self-service check-out again without thinking of this study. Then, when you add in people like the woman on your bus coughing over people without turning away or covering her mouth......it's no wonder that these lergies spread so easily.
Hope you feel better soon,
F x
I use gel before I eat if I'm out and I don't use my hands to open doors if I can get away with it, I use my elbows or bum unless it's a pull door then I will use gel, I try not to hold any handholds on the bus too but sometimes that's unavoidable especially when standing, all these behaviours were picked up during the pandemic and are now so ingrained I think I will always do them, as for not washing your hands after the toilet 🤢🤢🤢

Hope you feel better soon.TBH, I can't see a time when we will stop wearing them. It hopefully keeps us from catching all sorts and not just covid.

Day two of Covid and it's not been as bad as yesterday, I was a bit worried last night because I was a bit breathless when I went to bed but I have a sats probe and my oxygen and heart rate were normal so I was ok. I slept last night but woke up really early so I had breakfast and then went back to bed and slept until 12. I decided I'm just going to sleep my way through it.
I felt well enough to give the kitchen I light clean with anti bac spray this afternoon and get my bedding washed that's been in the linen basket since last week then I've spent all afternoon reading. I'm reading Steven Kings new book Fairy Tale and really enjoying it. I read Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver before that and it was really good,I didn't want it to end and was sad when I finished it. I also watched a programme about Agatha Christie last night and I think I need to investigate her books ,I've only read And Then There Were None which I loved but nothing else of hers ,so when I finish this book I will have a look.
I was going to do some knitting this afternoon but my head was a bit fuzzy so I left it alone but tomorrow is looking good if I feel better than I did today. This jumper was meant to be for me to wear during this cold winter with lack of heating but I'm only half way up the back so I won't be finishing it any time soon. I got the lovely thick jumper I knitted last year out of the wardrobe yesterday but it's not cold enough for that one indoors so I'm going to give it a quick wash to freshen it up for wearing out when I walk B, it's really chunky, thick and heavy so will keep me toasty and warm.
DD has gone out to a Christmas party tonight so it's just me,B and the cats here now 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
Sorry to hear you've got Covid again. I hope that's the worst of it over with but do rest a bit more than you feel you need to.
It's very good to hear you are pain-free, though, and the emergency appointment didn't pick up damage.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
