I don’t eat meat, haven’t done so for 35 years, although I do eat some fish occasionally. I don’t have any health issues at all. I don’t eat any meat replacements apart from plant based mince. Some of the vegan/vegetarian meat replacements are highly processed. I don’t like the taste, texture or look of meat so they don’t interest me. Do you like beans and pulses? They are a good alternative especially green lentils.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

This is what my issue is with meat replacements they do seem to be highly processed & I have been avoiding those for some years now. I still eat meat but have cut down a lot. When cooking spaghetti or curry or chilli I use less than a quarter of the meat I used to & basically bung in any veg that is around. I am lowering it even further now as my son has been warned about his cholesterol. I would like to see the actual figures because frankly I don't really believe it. Both my sister & I have fairly high LDL but our HDL is very high which cancels it out, which most doctors don't seem to know. We rarely eat fish as although I like it my son won't eat anything that actually looks like a fish & that means breaded/battered which I have no intention of eating as it gives me the bloat.

Sorry you have COVID again. I can’t comment on the issues re eating meat or not except to make sure you are getting enough iron in your diet. If you work in a hospital you are obviously at higher risk than the rest of us for catching stuff. Hopefully the joint pain is sorted now though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
