It's very good to hear you are pain-free, though, and the emergency appointment didn't pick up damage.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -

I didn't feel too good at all today after a night with hardly any sleep 😟 still no pain though so that's good news. I'm so frustrated that I've caught Covid again just as I was feeling better,I've got so much I need to do.
DD1 dropped some emergency shopping round this morning and picked up an M&S order that had come in for me ( pjs for the DGS) and tonight I ordered a couple of presents for both DDs. I buy them a Christmas decoration every year so I bought them tonight, I was going to get something from the Christmas market but its highly unlikely I will go back there now.
I've got both DDs main presents so these are just little bits we do every year ,I still need to sort out the DGS's, my mum and dad and my SIL. Mum and Dad will be some sort of food hamper but I haven't a clue about anyone else
I finished my book last night so today I download an Agatha Christie called Midwinter Murders, I thought it was apt for this time of year,it's a collection of short stories and quite good so far. I also watched half of the Film Deck The Halls today and then a programme about Libertys which is my favourite store in London. I don't like it for the stock so much but for the actual building, it's especially beautiful at Christmas and their Christmas shop is amazing . I went to visit a few years ago and treated myself to a liberty Christmas bauble which is gorgeous. I did feel very uncomfortable watching it this year though because it's very high end and I kept thinking about everyone struggling to pay their bills while people in that shop are spending over £200 on an advent calendar 🙀
Talking of advent calendars,I got the one I made last year out of the loft but it's empty because I haven't been able to go out and buy any sweets to put in it, mind you the thought of eating chocolate is making me feel 🤢so that's ok 😊
Today I have been craving Bovril but neither DD couldn't find any. DD2 went to the shop and came back with some carrot and coriander soup so I had some of that for my tea. I used to love it but ate it too much when I was doing slimming world years ago so I went off it but this one was really nice ( Mr T) I only had a quarter of a bowl with some bread and butter but it filled me up
DD1 sent me a video earlier of the DGss on the Polar Express, they sent me a message saying they missed me and wished I was there 😍😍 it was really cuteOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1204 -
Good to hear you are being so well looked after by family OBL - hope you are on the mend very soon.I love Libertys too but haven’t shopped there since before pandemic. The Liberty beauty advent calendar has always struck me a false economy. Why spend hundreds on samples in a pretty box? Most of which comprise items that were overstocked/poor sellers and are regularly available as ‘free gifts’ with threshold spend several times a year.Shame about the bovril - I always swear by potato soup - couldn’t be simpler - boil potatos, stock, seasoning and some softened onions or whatever veg you have to hand. Can be whizzed or eaten chunky as to preference.Feel better soon OBL xxLancashire

HI OBL, glad to read the aches and pains have gone and hope your recovery from covid goes smoothly. I think you can have the autumn booster 4 weeks after having had covid as that's what we were saying at the vaccination centre. However a lot of centres are closing but I think pharmacies are going to continue to offer booster.2

The first time I saw Liberty's was about this time of year and it had the most enormous red bow tied across the half-timbered front. I think that was around 1983 so I've never been able to find a picture of it but it's still in my head.
£200 on an Advent calendar though...! I'm not against treats, we could all do with some sometimes, but I can't help thinking that's mostly profit.
I hope your reknit turns out well. I was looking at chunky jumpers in the shops but so many this year seem to be recycled plastics which I feel is just delaying the point at which the plastics go into landfill (I may be being the Grinch here) so reusing a yarn you already have is a win-win. What's the yarn like?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I like a nice leek and potato soup but I do have to be in the mood to eat soup so don't end up eating it very oftenOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
