  • Good to hear you have a diagnosis , I hope the medication works well without many side effects and you can try and get back to being fully fit again.
You may feel well enough in the new year to go horse riding again.
Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.

  • I’m glad you’ve got something to hopefully help. I know they’re not the best tablets, but if they give you a better quality of life, then that might be worth it. X

At least you are getting the attention you deserve, if you see what I mean.  Now the only way is up.  Just make sure the contacts that they say actually happen.  I was told in Jan that I would be seen again in 6 - 8 weeks what is it now, December tomorrow!
I think it's partly my fault in that I'm not persistent enough. The appointment she has referred me for is considered an emergency so should be fast tracked hopefully 🤞

As you say, @Onebrokelady, if it is arteritis, thank goodness they have caught when they did.  I have my fingers crossed  for you that the meds will work and you will get back to full functioning and feeling well again.
Thanks I'm hoping they work and I can get on with my life again 😊

I hope that the medication helps you and no wonder that you've felt so poorly lately.
    Thanks I hope so too.

I won't get a proper diagnosis until I've been on the steroids for a week, if they don't improve my symptoms it's something else. I'm hoping they have got to the bottom of it now though. Horse riding next year would be the icing on the cake 🤞🤞

The doctor said today it's a lot of info to take in and it's a long treatment regime but I told her I'm desperate enough to try anything at the moment

Thanks for de lurking to share your experience, it's quite reassuring to hear of someone who recovered eventually. My mum was diagnosed with PMR when she was in her early sixties but it was very badly managed and she is still on 5mgs of steroids 30 years later she wasn't given bone protection medication straight away so has damage from that.
She wasn't monitored properly for a few years and it has wrecked her body ( steroids not PMR)  every time I get an ache or a pain she worries it's the same thing and has warned me over and over not to let them give me steroids so I was quite worried about it all, but I know this is the only treatment and frankly I feel so ill at this moment in time they could offer me arsenic and I would try it 😀. I am really hoping that this works and I see an improvement soon 🤞🤞
