Same here, @OBL. Our CH has barely been on. It's set at 18° from 6am to 10pm, then it is off all.night. October was so mild that we've only had a few mornings sufficiently cool to trigger the boiler to come on. I do think it's been unseasonably warm & I'm sure there'll be colder days ahead soon, but at least the warmer October should have given households an opportunity to save on energy costs. Let's hope so, anyway.

Re decluttering. I am not a minimalist in any sense of the word, but I do ask myself when decluttering, whether an item is justifying the space it's taking up. I prefer to keep things which have family/personal value & things I love, rather than stuff which is just 'ok'.

@OBL - I love going CS too! Especially the emails they send saying how much they raised from the items they sold + the gift aid amounts. I try to take donations in person instead of using the bags they drop off every other day it seems. I think local CS would benefit more than doorstop collection going to a National hub of some sort and ending up in another country’s landfill.
Well done on being ruthless with clearing the clutter - your plans sound great!

& glad the new pillow seemed to help - sorry you are still in pain tho - don’t know about you but sometimes I feel like I’ve gotten quite used to the pains which is worrying.

We haven’t had any heating on yet. Dh doesn’t feel the cold much and to be honest I’ve been getting up later than when I was working and going to be early so snuggled in bed more than I ever used to 😃
The plans to go minimal sound great.
Hope you feel ok and can get back to work next week. It’s a fine balance between keeping active and not overdoing it .

Mines set 16 so doesn't really come on unless I turn it up, if I'm busy doing things it's plenty warm enough

I never give mine to doorstop collectors because you just don't know where it's going to end up. I use their bags to transport it to the charity shop though,I got fed up of leaving the empty bag out and them not being collected so I use them now.

After 19 years I am sadly used to being in pain every day, I do notice when I have a good day but can't remember the last time that happened to be honest

I'm good at snuggling in bed 😂
I'm hoping I will be ok for next week but I'm not sure if it's a good idea,I will only find out if I go back though so 🤷‍♀️

  • I've had a day at home today and despite feeling like I've been run over by a truck I've got all my planned jobs done. I should maybe have rested but I wanted to see what the reaction would be if I got busy. If I can't manage the housework going back to work is unrealistic but I'm still holding out hope for next week.

Im also conscious of the fact that I might always feel like this and although my body hurts it's not good to sit around doing nothing so I'm cracking on as normal. I'm feeling extra fragile today because I have a mouth ulcer which I haven't had for a very long time. I can cope with my body hurting all the time but I hate it if my mouth hurts, it's just horrible, I d put gel on it so hopefully it will heal up quite quickly, I will rinse my mouth with salt water tonight as that normally helps to heal ulcers and relieve pain too.

I was supposed to call my gp today to try and get an appointment but I chickened out, I get really anxious if I have to deal with my GP for any reason,I think it's because I know they can't really help me and I'm not good at explaining how I am feeling. I am going to phone them tomorrow instead.

Today's excitement was another thunder storm which I love 😀 it wasn't as loud as the one we had the other night and didn't cause any power cuts so that was good but it was still worth watching. I was outside sorting the chicken when the first flash of lightening went off and seeing as my garden is surrounded by massive trees I legged it pretty sharpish back into the house 🙀 the sky looked like Armageddon was approaching 😀

Im meeting a friend for coffee tomorrow so I'm looking forward to that, I'm going to take some more bits to my local charity shop on my way  so that will be more clutter gone and I've also got some bottles to go to the bottle bank so will do those at the same time

Great minds OBL - I also use the charity bags to get items to local CS - good to know am not alone in doing that 😊

sorry it’s been so long since you had a good pain free day - have you heard anything yet about the pain clinic? I know it’s early days but never hurts to give the powers that be a prod?

I don't know if you listen to Radio 4, OBL, but on the last couple of days the PM program has talked to chicken keepers about chickens and how intelligent they are. I thought about you and your chicken... it sounds as if yours have had interesting things to keep them stimulated as the program suggested, but I don't know if you've ever hung up old CDs for them to peck at! It was really interesting, I could listen to a whole program about it.

I’ve just been watching morning live and they were talking about mouth ulcers and the doc recommended a paste that covers the ulcer. He didn’t mention a name and I’ve no idea how much they cost. I’m with you though and a great believer in salt water.
    Enjoy you meeting  with friend.
