  • Ooh, glad you got your arms working again. How strange and also how scary it must have been. Do you find this damp & colder weather is worse for your pains? Its certainly worse for my knees.
Glad you got Christmas sorted. I agree we can't be doing with buying people presents, it is all a waste of time & money. Just posted a similar comment on my diary. I think birthdays are more important than Christmas

It must have been scary not being able to lift your arms, I'm so glad you got them working again. I assume it was stiffness and pain? My Mum used to take her painkillers then just sit on her bed for ages till the pain decreased enough for her to move. Do you keep a phone near your bed in case you get stuck?

It's nice that your friend introduced the Christmas conversation. So many people must be thinking about it, and token presents are just that, and it feel more an obligation than a joy. If people must do something for a friend, there are plenty of other occasions when a gift might be appreciated, such as if the person is feeling down or has something to celebrate or is just in need of a break.
Not scary just painful, they were working but too painful to move. I tend to do some stretches when this happens and that does seem to help . My phone is on my bedside table because I use it for my alarm, there's no point calling anyone though as they can't get in the house and are at least half an hour away. I can normally get going after 10 minutes or so

They were working it was just too painful to move them. The cold damp weather is making a difference this year so I am wrapping up. I think birthdays are more important too so we have agreed to keep on with birthday presents 😊

Had an awful day today,I woke up in the night feeling like I am getting a cold, but nothing has come of it apart from me aching everywhere, I'm not sure if that's just me or if it the added ache of something horrible brewing but I hope not. I do have a headache too so will be going to bed soon.

I started a new book today called Winterset Hollow, it's supposed to be scary but I'm not finding it scary at all,it's a good story though and I couldn't put it down this afternoon.

I haven't done anything of note today so not much to report

Your trip with your friend sounded lovely.
The painful arms sounded a nuisance……glad you got the movement back. Is it generally worse in the mornings?

Well done on agreeing not to do Christmas presents. We did that with my brother and mum a few years ago and friends before that. Now I just buy for DH, DD1 and DD2 and SIL and the 2 DGDs. 6 people suits me fine. Already bought for DGDs and DD2 and her husband so only need to get something for DD1 and DH.

Sorry about the aching arms. It sounds very painful. Stretches will help if you can manage to do them.

It was lovely thanks 😊 the painful arms are worse when I get up and get better after about an hour, they ache pretty much all day but when I get up I can't lift them up or reach for anything, my neck is the same can't move my head without it really hurting but it gets better as the day goes on

I am very relieved now we have decided not to do it ,it find it stressful every year just trying to think of something to give. I do stretches throughout the day but first thing in the morning it's impossible,I have to wait for the painkillers to kick in first 😊

  • Nearly cried for the first time in a long time this morning as my neck shoulders and arms were so painful. My painkillers have kicked in now so I'm feeling a bit better now which is good because I need to go shopping today, I was supposed to go yesterday and to meet a friend for coffee but ended up going back to bed for a few hours.

I have had some good news though today in the form of my energy bill. It's come to the grand total of £26.68 minus the £66 that was paid in by the government/ future tax payers. So my bill was £92.63 instead of the £187 they wanted to take 🙀 I will pay it later and the difference will go into the energy savings account.

I have also just taken delivery of a coffee table for DDs new flat, she found it on FB market place for the grand sum of £18 and the lady delivered it ( DD gave her a bit extra for delivery ) it's a nice mid century oak and bamboo table that she is going to revamp, it's the wrong colour wood at the moment as she likes walnut so she is going to sand it and stain it a different colour, it's a lovely solid piece of furniture and it will look great when she has finished with it 😊

  • Sorry to hear you are having a bad time with pain. Wonder if your mattress and/or pillow makes it worse in the morning? Just a thought. Also have you tried one of those heated wheat packs? It always helps mine.
    Coffee table sounds a bargain

    Have a good day. x
