  • I don't know if you listen to Radio 4, OBL, but on the last couple of days the PM program has talked to chicken keepers about chickens and how intelligent they are. I thought about you and your chicken... it sounds as if yours have had interesting things to keep them stimulated as the program suggested, but I don't know if you've ever hung up old CDs for them to peck at! It was really interesting, I could listen to a whole program about it.
I tried the first lot with old cds and they ran away 😀but I might try it with  my chicken I've got left to see what she thinks. They always spend most of their time scratching around the garden looking for tasty bugs. She has an apple on a skewer to nibble at and a variety of things to eat when she is shut in but I try to let her have the run of the garden if I'm at home

I’ve just been watching morning live and they were talking about mouth ulcers and the doc recommended a paste that covers the ulcer. He didn’t mention a name and I’ve no idea how much they cost. I’m with you though and a great believer in salt water.
    Enjoy you meeting  with friend.
Salt water is the best for mouth ulcers as it's naturally antiseptic and I think they heal faster. I also use it as a gargle if I have a sore throat, you just have to be careful not to swallow it 🤢

  • Where has this week gone 🙀
I met my friend for coffee and we had a little mooch around Next then she gave me a lift home which saved me waiting for a bus.
Yesterday I had to pop into town but was only out for about an hour, I must keep a running list of things I need because I keep forgetting to pick things up and then end up going into town on days when I wouldn't have needed to.

Today I have been at home all day doing housey things and relaxing. I also tried a yoga work out for people with arthritis, it was very gentle and only 10 minutes long and I did feel nice and flexible after I did it. My legs have been hurting on and off all day but sitting down too much makes it worse so I've kept busy in between sitting 😊

I got hold of my surgery and have got an appointment but not until the 18th of November and it's a phone appointment with a doctor I've never seen before 😟this means explaining everything all over again even though it will be in my electronic record, it winds me up when they ask you to explain things as it wastes appointment time, just read the notes before you phone 🤷‍♀️

Tomorrow I am seeing DD1 and either one or two of the dgss. The eldest has been ill so she is going to see if he wants to come or stay at home. We are going to take them to the library and then to the on-site cafe for coffee and cake

Your chickens have the life of Riley. I admit to grinning at them running away from old CDs though.

I had great plans of a minimal house when my 2 fled the nest…..then……dd settled down south and had a family. I now need room for a family of 4 when they come to stay. Annnnndddddd Dh collects everything he needs for his hobbies and just keeps piling it into ‘his’ room. I know I have crafts but everything has a place and I do have clearouts every now and then. He did reluctantly do 3 runs to the tip a couple of weeks ago with his junk. I’d love less stuff.
Sorry Milann I didn't see this comment. I will eventually have to move out of this house and will only be able to afford a one bedroom flat so downsizing is a big priority for me. My girls will both be living locally for the foreseeable so no need for them to stay over really. When DD moves out she will be taking her bed from her room so there won't be a bed for anyone to sleep on anyway 😂I do have an air bed I can use if she stays over for any reason. My aim is for empty rooms and empty cupboards so when I can go I can just move with the minimum of fuss
I have got rid of lots of craft bits that I no longer want and obviously don't have a husband cluttering the place up so don't have that problem 😂😂 if I look after the DGs overnight I go to their house and sleep over.

I'm aiming for a completely streamlined life so I'm not spending my time looking after things that just get dusty and make work for me, then I can get on and enjoy the things I like to do in my spare time

I'm not sure about them to be honest ,I don't like going to the surgery so avoid it if at all possible but I also don't like talking on the phone either so I can't win 😀I do find I'm more  likely to say what's on my mind in a phone appointment so maybe they are better fo me 🤷‍♀️

It must have been scary not being able to lift your arms, I'm so glad you got them working again. I assume it was stiffness and pain? My Mum used to take her painkillers then just sit on her bed for ages till the pain decreased enough for her to move. Do you keep a phone near your bed in case you get stuck?

It's nice that your friend introduced the Christmas conversation. So many people must be thinking about it, and token presents are just that, and it feel more an obligation than a joy. If people must do something for a friend, there are plenty of other occasions when a gift might be appreciated, such as if the person is feeling down or has something to celebrate or is just in need of a break.
