    Morning OBL,
Aww, sad chicken news to start the day, but I was pleased to hear about the flat for your DD & I do hope all goes well with that.
If the wiring isn't urgent, I think I'd also be looking at building more emergency funds first. We all know how emergencies go.....nothing for ages, then three at once.

Oh, I'm sorry about the hen. I know you gave her a good life, but you'll miss her.

Your DD's new place sounds lovely.

I'm glad the repairs aren't as urgent as they first seemed. It's nice you can afford to wait a little and build a bit of a buffer again.

And well done for steering clear of Covid.
Thanks Cherry, it's odd when I go up there now because I would always say hello ladies but I can't now, I've changed it to hello beautiful because she is a very pretty hen 😊 I just hope she isn't lonely. Hens are known to form close bonds within the flock but I will never know, she is still pottering round the garden when I let her out but does spend a bit of time just standing staring into space which chickens don't really do 🤷‍♀️

DDs flat is lovely and I'm hoping she loves living there , she is worried about moving out and being on her own but I'm hoping she will get used to it. Her social life hasn't picked up a lot so she has things to do at the weekends and of course we will meet up as well.

I am taking a chance with the repairs but I have researched it and the problem is minor at the moment so I'm hoping I get away with it until my savings are bigger. The light that he repaired in the kitchen is working perfectly even though it hasn't been re wired, he just cleaned it up inside and put a new switch on 🤷‍♀️

    Morning OBL
That's lovely news about your DD. The flat sounds great, exciting times for her.
I'm an empty nester - my younger DD moved to live with her boyfriend's family after finishing uni last month. She's over 100 miles away now :( Other DD lives nearer.
Sorry to hear about the hen and hope the other one is ok.
    Love Deni
Thank you she is very excited and nervous at the same time. I'm glad she will be in the same city as me as she was considering moving to Bristol a while ago but changed her mind

The other hen is fine but obviously I can't tell if she is lonely or not so will have to just go with it at the moment ,if she shows signs of distress I will have to think again, she is elderly for a hen so rehoming her would be stressful for her and of course I can't move her now anyway so will just have to wait and see

Sorry to hear about your chicken. I hope the other one isn't too lonely without her.

That's great news about DD's new flat, it sounds ideal for her. Also good news you're able to wait until you can afford it to have the electrical work done.
Thanks SA ,I'm hoping she will be ok on her own 🤞🤞it's just such bad timing, I could have rehomed her back in the summer but can't now and I'm not sure how she would cope trying to integrate into a new flock as it can be quite brutal.

DDs flat is perfect for her and I'm so pleased she found it . Im taking a chance with not getting the work done straight away but I've been told it's not an urgent problem with the way it is now. It will need doing but it can wait for now

It was a sad day 😟 but I've been gearing myself up for it all summer because of their age. I am still surprised they lasted this long to be honest and she was still laying which was amazing,

Im keeping my fingers crossed that the flat works out for DD, there shouldn't be any problems now so hopefully it will all be straight forward. There's no chain and it's only three years old so I think it will go quite smoothly. The solicitors she is using were only engaged yesterday and they have already put all the documents she needs to sign in the post today so they seem on the ball. The scheme she is going through is a shared ownership so she has paid a reservation fee for the flat and just needs to speak with her mortgage broker so she can explain the mortgage deal, she has 6 months to get it all done otherwise she has to start all over again with the affordability checks.

The rule of three is why I'm waiting to do the repairs 😀 I just know if I spend that money now something urgent will happen, my fridge freezer is very old so I'm mindful of that packing up at some point

I can't remember if I posted that I got my letter from the hospital and I've been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis and chronic pain syndrome ( otherwise known as Fibromyalgia 🙄)

They have discharged me back to the care of My GP and suggested a referral to the pain management team and for physio therapy. I now waiting to see how long it take for my GP to refer me.

The letter was a bit inaccurate as he said I had no pain over the Fibromyalgia trigger points ,but he didn't actually test any of my trigger points and he wrote that my crp levels were 7 and they were 11 which is a big difference. I haven't got the energy or capacity to argue with anyone about this though so it won't be rectified any time soon.
I spoke to my GP on Monday and she has signed me off for two more weeks so I don't go back to work until the 10 of November now.

Today I overdid things and am now in considerable pain. I woke up this morning and actually managed to get out of bed like a normal person,I felt ok so decided to crack on with some housework but it was obviously too much too soon. I took lots of breaks to sit down in between jobs as well . I'm going to need to take it more slowly I think

OBL - It sounds like you’ve had a fight getting this diagnosed in the 1st place. I got a referral to a pain management clinic some time ago and it did help. But as I’m sure you know - it’s the squeaky wheels who get the grease as far as NHS is concerned. So would recommend that you don’t sit back and wait - chase your gp for that referral. I’m astonished that consultant discharged you already - why on earth could the consultant not refer you to the pain management clinic themselves?  I would ring the consultants secretary tomorrow and demand answers - it sounds like they have given you the brush off!! 😤 It is so frustrating how hard people have to fight when they are struggling so much already with health problems. Passing the buck should not take place where health is concerned. Be the squeaky wheel is the best advice I can give.
Sorry you are having to deal with this all.

I'm sorry to hear about today's pain - it must be so easy to go ahead and get things done while you can, and find you are paying for it later. At least you are signed off for a while and won't have to keep battling through shifts.

I don't know how the referral system works but could you use what you've written here as a summary to present to the GP? It doesn't need to be erudite. After all, if the consultant's letter was dictated, perhaps 'seven' and 'eleven' could be misheard? It sounds silly but would the consultant even proofread what his or her secretary has written?

  • Congrats to DD and the flat.

Sorry to here about the chicken though. Hopefully the other stays ok on her own.

The diagnosis is at least something but hopefully they’ll review your medication properly so you at least get some relief.

Glad you’re taking it slowly although the temptation to do more when we feel better is our downfalls sometimes.
