Covid is most definitely still around. I know if more people with it’s now than I ever did in the lockdown. And there is probably a lot more than being recorded as people just aren’t testing anymore. I know we need to open up the world again but I definitely think if testing positive we should still isolate until testing negative……seems crazy to do otherwise.
Enjoy your last day of your holiday OBL……please don’t be put under pressure to go in more than you feel able 👍

It's a fine balance that's for sure but I think if you can stay at home while experiencing symptoms you should,it's ok saying stay away from vulnerable people but how are you supposed to know who's vulnerable or not,I could catch the bus with symptoms and sit next to someone who would be very ill if they caught it but I wouldn't know any difference 🤷‍♀️
I wont be doing any extra shifts now I just thought I could have done one while I was on holiday, I might have to swap some shifts around though if people are off, they don't pressure us to do extra they just send out message to all staff everyday asking if anyone if available to do hours and normally offer double pay 😊

I haven't don't much so far today I didn't get up until 10.30 🙀  I woke up at 8 but didn't feel too good and while I was thinking about dragging myself out of bed I fell asleep again 😀😀
We have taken B out for her walk through the fields and I've got my bedding in the wash. I just went to make a banana bread but we haven't got enough butter so I decided to have my lunch instead. I've now found a BBC Good Food recipe that uses vegetable oil instead so I'm going to try that, I need to use up these bananas before they go too far to be useful, I also have some chocolate drops that need using so I'm going to throw some of them in as well 😍😍

Its an annoying rainy/ sunny day here so I can't hang my washing outside but it will hang over the stairs and be dry by the morning. I also have a pile of ironing to do but it's not very big so won't take long, I bought a new ironing board cover yesterday because mines has a hole in it but the new one is too small, my ironing board is a really big one but I love it so don't want to buy a new one, this ironing board was in my parents house in 1976 so has been going a long time, it's indestructible but it's hard to get covers for it,last time I got one in Lakeland's but it was nearly £10 and didn't last any longer than a cheaper one

Anyway enough blathering I need to get baking 😊

It always surprises me how much ironing board covers cost, @Onebrokelady, as there's not much fabric or construction to them really. Last time mine wore out, I made a cover from an old flowery sheet but when that goes, I shall buy one.
You must have needed the sleep if you dropped off again this morning, so it's probably done you good.

  • Late to the boot debate but have you tried the clearance section of Next? It’s online, so can’t try them on, but my last 3 pairs of footwear I’ve bought from there. They’ve all been reduced from £50-£60 down to £10. One pair of boots have lasted me through the last 2 winters ( being used daily for work) and are still going strong. The latest I’ve bought are really comfortable.

Sorry to hear that work have declared a major incident. Glad you were able to get out in the fields with B

We’ve got a lot of staff positive at work and we’re extremely short in one of our centres now. Not sure at what point they decide to do something in work but they’re hopelessly carrying on at the minute x

Since we returned to the office the cases are rising daily to the point that there have been so many on one floor they’re considering closing it.

I've said from the beginning of this thing that if you aren't prepared to protect yourself then no-one else will & that is proving true in spades now.  The supermarkets don't even seem to be pretending, so I guess I am going to have to try for home deliveries, which I don't really want to do.
