My journey to a debt free life

I prefer ankle boots to shoes because they keep my feet drier when I'm walking B. I'm hoping now will be a good time to get some because they will be cheap then I can keep them for next winter too. Last time I bought boots from this particular shop they lasted for about three years so I'm hoping they will have something today 🤞milann said:Happy boot hunting 👍 I wear ankle boots as long as I can - I find them so much more comfortable than shoes. I was lucky and found some hotter ones at half price just before Christmas 😁Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8940 -
We still haven't gone anywhere yet today because the delivery we had to wait in for yesterday is now apparently coming today 😡they sent DD a text saying it was coming yesterday so we wasted a day waiting in for it and now they are saying it's coming today between 1 and 2 so it had better turn up .DD has bought herself a new computer so needs to be here to receive it.
We have just taken B for a walk through the fields so she is happy now and I'm now having a coffee then we are going into town once the delivery turns up. We are walking which takes half an hour so should be in town by 2.30ish. It's currently sunny and windy but there is rain forecast for later so I think we might get a bit soggyOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Enjoy your walk, @Onebrokelady. We've managed a nice walk today without catching a rain shower & I'm just thinking I should get out in the garden for an hour or so while it's still quite bright. Hope you find some good boots. I have boots, but no shoes. I am looking for a pair of nice Mary-jane type shoes which are neither too heeled, too flat or too frumpy & in a colour I like.......oh, & which aren't silly money. Not as easy as it looks!

How very annoying about the delivery.
I don't know what fabric your Primarni boots are, but might it be possible to waterproof them? I did a quick Google and there are a lot of spray-on waterproofers , some of which will do fabric or leather, and also a product called 'seam sealer'.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I have a lovely pair of totally impractical red suede Mary-Jane shoes that I got from M&S a couple of years ago to wear with a Christmas outfit, they are lovely but only suitable for nights out 😊foxgloves said:Enjoy your walk, @Onebrokelady. We managed to get into town without it raining 🎉🎉 but I wasn't so lucky on the way back and got a bit soggy walking from the bus stopOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942 -
They are a fake suede but very thin and leaky now, they are suitable for popping into town but not walking for miles 😊Cherryfudge said:How very annoying about the delivery.

I didn't find any boots in town but I did order some just now from the Heavenly Feet website, they were reduced from £59.99 to £23.98 so less than I expected to pay and hopefully they will be comfortable, they look like they are comfy 🤞🤞I don't like buying shoes online because I like to try them on. I did try a couple of pairs on today but they weren't quite right which was good because they were double the price.
I came home and did a load of washing and also changed my bedding so that can be washed tomorrow. I've only got one day left of my holiday then I'm back to work on Monday but only for one day then I have two days off. I'm not looking forward to going back because work is still crazy, they declared a major incident on Thursday and there were ambulances queued up outside waiting to drop patients off. I've been getting messages all week on our message group asking if anyone can do extra hours because we are so short of staff. There are several people off either with Covid or who's partners/ children have it and there were also 65 inpatients who had it on Thursday . I listened to two ladies today talking about how it's gone away and I so wanted to put them straight 😡Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942 -
They wouldn't have believed you anyway. Hospitalisations going up but Boris is in denial & tried to turn the scientists into liars like himself. These people are incapable of reading the figures for themselves. I do sometimes wonder how the nurse that helped saved his life & then later left the NHS feels.Onebrokelady said:I listened to two ladies today talking about how it's gone away and I so wanted to put them straight 😡

Covid is most definitely still around. I know if more people with it’s now than I ever did in the lockdown. And there is probably a lot more than being recorded as people just aren’t testing anymore. I know we need to open up the world again but I definitely think if testing positive we should still isolate until testing negative……seems crazy to do otherwise.
Enjoy your last day of your holiday OBL……please don’t be put under pressure to go in more than you feel able 👍

That's true they wouldn't would they, it's all over the place here and we are now seeing children who have had it are being left with a longterm condition causing widespread inflammation of their organs, I know it's not a fatal now but it's causing lots of long term health problems that is going to effect a lot of people for years to come. I have still got a cough and my chest has never been the same since I caught it 😟badmemory said:
