You’re sounding very organised with a lovely tidy house and washing all done 👏👏
The bills are a definite worry though…..like you say think it’s a matter of weathering the storm and hopefully it’ll pass quickly 🤞

@Onebrokelady - You're right, you chose the floors & there's no point heading down that well trodden path of regrets. I think I'd have been really torn over the new flooring too, as I know how much you wanted it & I'm sure I'd have been the same. Hopefully your problem radiators will hold out until you have been able to rebuild funds a little. Getting through the winter with them intact would give you a little more breathing space & it's often easier to get heating engineer types out in the summer months simply because nobody's really thinking about heating. Fingers crossed!

I should have known that something major would happen the minute I spent the money 🙄 I did mention the radiators to the people that have just replaced the boiler and they are happy to do it for me as soon as I am able to go ahead. I just need to save the money and let them know

I've been umming & ahhing over replacing my fridge & freezer for a couple of years.  They are definitely no longer young probably both over 20 & are obviously no longer very efficient.  It is just deciding on the financial viability of buying new.  I would like a bigger freezer & a fridge that does not have the freezer bit in the top, which is completely wasted.  The freezers though seem to be either E or F rated or if A then well over £1000, which would pay a lot of extra electric.  I hate having to make these decisions.
After many years of buying Hotpoint fridge freezers, I’ve gone for Beko this time. A lot more affordable, my dishwasher and washing machine are Beko too and I have no complaints at all.
My current washing machine is a Beko and apart from being noisy it's been ok, I went buy Hotpoint because I had a bad experience with them once

  • I have a Bosch washing machine and I absolutely adore it 😜😂 I can stop it and add stuff if it has just started, it holds loads and is so quiet. I went through two cheap washing machines very quickly and with a family of six in the end I just paid the price for reliability!

Our fridge freezer was reasonable from A0. It is a stop gap as eventually I want a large separate fridge and freezer.

I am also planning on getting a radiator fixed in the warmer months. I think we had the boiler serviced around April time last year (don't normally bother but when we moved in last year there was a full service history and it had been done yeah by the company who installed it, after research decided to keep this up) so will book that and for them to look at the boys radiator that appears to not be coming on.
Ahhh the holy grail is a washing machine that you can add things to once it's started 😀 I've now marked on my calendar the date the boiler was fitted so I know to book a service next year

I've been on holiday all week with no plans so housework has been a priority 😀

  • Well I was supposed to going into town to try to spend my gift vouchers today but I woke up feeling really ill so went back sleep, I was also supposed to be topping up my food shopping but that will have to wait now. I was in bed until 12.30 and then made myself get up but I've got a banging head, earache, a wheezy chest, cough and tender throat, I'm also very achy but that might be Fibro related. I did an LFT and it was negative so it's just a cold, I am back to work on Monday so hope I feel better by then🤞

We took B for a walk this afternoon thinking the fresh air might help but it didn't make me feel any better,B enjoyed herself though 😊 I've spent the rest of the day reading my book and watching YouTube

We had a lovey Gousto meal for tea,it was a spicy meat pasta dish and was very tasty. We also made a lentil Dahl on Thursday and that will be a firm favourite for sure,it will also be really easy to replicate with our own ingredients

I also need to update my signature because I forgot to do it last time I was here. I'm hoping I feel a bit more human tomorrow so I can go and get some shopping

I hope you're feeling better in the morning. Try and take it easy tomorrow.

  • Woke up at 7 with a banging head so got up and took some flu tablets,I did go back to bed but next door put their tumble drier on at 7.30, it's really loud so I couldn't get back to sleep 😫I got up in the end and got ready for the day.

Its a horrible day out there today and I wish I had gone shopping yesterday now. I've taken B out and she was not impressed with the rain at all.

Im just having a cup of tea then I need to sort out a shopping list and go and do my shopping. I checked the bus timetable and they should be very half an hour today so hopefully they are sticking to the timetable 🤞🤞I'm trying to time it so I have taken some more cold tablets before I go so I won't feel too yucky while I'm out

The only other plans I have today are to change my bed and just lounge about, I still have ironing to do but I'm not sure I've got the energy for that ( that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it 😀)

The weather is dire here too, very drizzly and gloomy. I hope you feel better soon.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Thanks SA unfortunately I'm feeling awful this evening and thinking about going to bed in a bit. The rain we had when I went into town was like a monsoon 😟 it stopped at around 3ish so I nipped out to do the 🐓🐓 while I had the chance
