Take care and be careful not to rush back to work too soon.
Well done on the SW too……you’ve done much better than me 👏👏
Hi Milann I've bought just asked for another weeks certificate, I went food shopping yesterday and was in agony whenI got back. I was awake most of the night because I couldn't get comfortable enough to get to sleep

Sorry to hear you’re still suffering.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Slow boring week here🙄 I had to venture out for food shopping yesterday and thought it would be a good test of how far I can walk without my leg kicking off,the answer is not far or for too long 😳 I've just requested my certificate be extended for another week in the hope it will help. If after that week it's not improving I'm am just going to have to go back and get on with it as best as I can. I can't be off long term as it's making me depressed just being stuck at home.

Tomorrow I have a work thing via teams,I was supposed to be going  to the day but it's not going to happen so I'm hoping I can get teams to work on my iPad. I used it last week to access some things that work were running remotely so hopefully it will be ok. This event is part of our team building day that didn't go ahead last month because a few of us were ill

Last night was spent watching Bake Off and then shouting at the telly at the result, yet again they sent the wrong person home 😡I'm not even sure I'm going to bother watching the final in case the person who I don't like wins it,my poor blood pressure can't take it

I wasn’t sorry to see the person go out in bake off. He was a good baker but did annoy me for some reason….I’m not sure why.
I’m pleased you’ve got another weeks sicknote. If you can’t do a bit of shopping you can’t walk around all day at work. It’s a fine balance though if it’s getting you down. Take care.

If you google "exercises for piriformis syndrome" there's some on t'net. I have it because of a birth defect that makes my spine curve the wrong way. The physiotherapist usually starts by pulling my bent leg across my body but it's the exercises done at home that really help.

I've been given exercises and stretches to do by the physio at the surgery ,they do seem to help in the short term but the minute I start to get active it flares up again. I do the bent leg one, it's my favourite because I can feel the relief straight away. The physio did day it could take 6 weeks for me to notice a difference then another 6 weeks for it to be resolved completely. Ive had a good day today and my upper leg doesn't feel as bad but it's my knee and down the side of my calf and under my foot that is causing the most problems. I will plod on with my exercises and hopefully it will settle down.
I am also conscious of the fact that I do have a chronic pain issue and I don't want this to turn into another chronic pain thing so I'm keen to get it sorted ASAP

  • What a day, I was on my iPad doing this teams meeting with work today and although it was only 10.30 until 2.30 it seems to go on for ages. The funny thing is that it was partly about good communication but failed on that front. The people that were there in person just talked over those of us on screen and you literally had to shout to be heard, they were all just talking louder and louder instead of letting different people have their say. I had a headache by the time it finished. We were discussing ways of getting back to basics in our job and making the best of a horrible work environment but in reality we can't actually change anything so it felt like a waste of time 🤷‍♀️

I felt the need to be creative when it finished so made some more pom-poms ,we really need to crack on with them now  because we are running out of time. I also discovered today that the bakers twine I was going to use to string them together doesn't look right so I had to order some in a different colour, it will arrive on Saturday so I can start to string them together then and we can see how many more we need. We need to get the one for the wall but behind the tree done first so we can hang that one as once the tree is up we can't get to the wall. We had 67 made at the last count but DD made some more tonight so I'm not sure how many there are now. I know what I'm doing tomorrow though 😀

I also need to finish the advent house 🙀so far I've done the roof and the door and that's it ,so tomorrow in between making Pom poms I will try and get a first coat of paint on that too. I have to say I have done some online Christmas shopping so I'm not panicking about that, it won't be done by my target of the end of November because I can't physically go shopping but as soon as I'm fit enough I'm getting it done . I am now aiming to finish it by the the time I go for my festive afternoon tea which is on the 10th of December. I want couple of weeks leading up to Christmas that don't involve shopping.

We got our second Gousto box today and had  Halloumi burgers with chilli jam and pickled cucumber for tea tonight . They were lovely 😍😍 we did have our first negative experience though as whoever packed the box put the salad underneath all the heavy bits so it was just a lump of mushy green stuff,I was however impressed with the complaints system because by the time said salad had landed in the compost bin we had a refund 🎉🎉🎉

I also forgot to say that when I went shopping I looked for some of the spices they have sent us and I found two of them in Mr S so I can now try to recreate at least one of the recipes we have already tried. I am going to have a go at that when this box runs out. I've never been excited to cook before and I think it was because I was bored and also had trouble coming up with ideas but something has clicked since I found these recipes so I'm hoping I can carry on and recreate them 🤞🤞

Hi @Onebrokelady - Glad to hear you have some exercises to do for your sciatica because you don't need an additional painful condition on top of your fibromyalgia. You have both made a huge amount of pom-poms! They will look very festive. I keep meaning to knit some 'paper chains' as my Mum made some years ago for a church yarn bombing thing & they did look effective.
We were also really disappointed when Jurgen got evicted from GBBO. He was our favourite, as he was so unflappable & matter-of-fact with his dry humour & love of biscuit engineering precision. I have no idea who will win this year as the remaining contestants are very closely matched & they all want to win. Mr F has been dropping hints that I could bake a cake to eat while we are watching the final. Hmmmm.
