I love the idea of the food box's. Mainly because I loathe meal planning and cooking (love baking though!) Unfortunately with a very fussy family anything even slightly exotic is a no, so I have never found a recipe that we could all eat. So frustrating. I will keep on plodding on checking the supermarket websites for recipes I can adapt.
I'm the fussy one in this family 😀the two meals I have tried this week are both things I wouldn't have touched with a barge pole last week but I decided to make myself try something new and they have both been really nice.

Today was a lovely windy dry day so I got some washing done and actually got it out on the line 🎉🎉 it was nearly dry when I got it in so will just need finishing off on the airier .I also did my ironing today as well seeing as I'm stuck at home.

I painted a second coat on the roof of the advent house and also painted on the door. The next job is to do the actual house which I might have a go at tomorrow. Im hoping to take part in a virtual wellbeing thing that work are doing tomorrow. There are several talks on different subjects so  I thought I would try and join in if my iPad lets me.

We had another HF meal tonight it was Moroccan spinach and chickpea stew. We left the spinach out to have separate though because I like it raw but not cooked ,it had apricots in as well as feta and was served with couscous that was made with veg stock with flat leaf parsley mixed in. I wasn't looking forward to this meal as it's something I would never have chosen to try but it was actually really nice. The servings were big again so there is enough for both of us to have some for another meal, DD is taking hers to work tomorrow for her lunch 😊

Tonight Im looking forward to watching a new drama called Close to Me on channel four, it stars Christopher Ecclestone and he is one of my favourite actors so I thought I would give it a go .

I've recorded Close to Me - I'm out tonight so will watch it tomorrow. I especially like the actress in it, Connie Nielsen - I used to watch her in 'Friday Night Lights' a couple of years ago.

They are really nice so far and I've been very surprised by the portion sizes too. Tonight we have a Warm Butternut Squash and  Cavelo Nero Salad to try 😊

I had my physio appointment on Monday morning over the phone and he wanted to see me so managed to squeeze me in at 4pm yesterday. Long story short is I have Sciatica but it's coming from my hip not my back. The sciatic nerve runs through your  Piriformus muscle and in my case that muscle is inflamed for some reason so is pinching the nerve causing pain down my leg into my foot.
He has given me exercises to do and some stretches, he told me to try not irritate it for the next few days so no long walks or standing around for long periods. I've taken Thursday off work and will then see how it is after a few days of stretches and the exercises. It can take up to 6 weeks to notice a difference with treatment and then another 6 weeks for the symptoms to resolve completely. I've been walking round like this for a while now already so I hope these exercises work.

Yesterday I spent the day at a virtual wellbeing event run by work which was quite interesting, I have two more talks today and I think two tomorrow so that's stopped me getting bored

I went to SW on my way home from the GPS last night and stayed the same this week so I was happy with that because I have been a bit off plan over the last two weeks. It's good to know I can have the odd treat and still maintain. I'm still hoping to get to the upper end of my goal weight next week so watch this space, obviously I'm not doing any walking for my exercise at the moment so I'm not sure how that will affect things 🤷‍♀️

I watched the new drama over two nights because I couldn't wait to see how it ended 😀it was really good but I need something else to watch now. Tonight is GBBO  though so will be watching that

  • Just caught up again , sorry to hear your leg is still playing up . My mum has sciatica, had it for years , she was given medication to shut her nerves down at night . Will you be able to be medicated on something other than painkillers. .
Glad to hear the jumper is finished and the Pom poms are starting .
