  • Sorry your leg is causing you so much pain. Hope there is something the physio can at least do to help you.

I think I would love Lindt chocolates in the house though. You might as well have a lovely treat every morning x

I've had sciatica that didn't affect my back, just my left hip, so it's possible to have it but not in the back. I remember that in my case it was more comfortable to jog than to walk!

I do think yours is a lot worse than mine :(
That's exactly where it is the left hip although the pain always starts in the side of my calf then goes under my knee and down the back of my calf and under my heel then after a few minutes I sometimes get the pain in my bum cheek. Sitting down is not helpful, standing up seems ok so long as I don't walk too far, walking is ok if I walk on my toes and don't put my heel down. That's how I was at work today tip toeing round the place on one leg

Oh this, except my right leg not my left.  But why does tip toeing help it?  And sitting on a seat that has a raised front edge is torture.  And oh the embarrassment, I was in with my son seeing his consultant & he had to yank me out of the rather low chair.  I'd been sitting too long & the seat had no arms.  That was after the silly women sitting in on the appointment had asked him if he was worried about if his mother could no longer look after him - nothing like trying to increase his anxiety levels, part of what he is there for!  He might not be totally well but he isn't stupid.
Does yours get worse if you are stressed, mine seems to?
If I don't put my heel on the ground it doesn't hurt as much but I can't really walk round like that all the time. I can't sit on a chair with a raised edge and if I do sit down it has to be the perfect height for me to sit in the chair properly but still be able to have my feet flat on the floor, going on the bus is torture because I have short legs so they dangle, I usually try to sit on the seat but the wheel arch so I can put my feet on that
Stress doesn't seem to make this particular pain worse but it does if I'm having a flare up of Fibro

Thanks Willow,I'm hoping they can do something too 😊 Lindt chocolates are a lovely treat but I will need to stop myself from eating them all in one go 😀

What part of your leg is it …..your hip? Hopefully they’ll get you sorted soon. It’s a pity the work physio didn’t do more for you.
The cinemas are certainly making up for lost time. I haven’t been yet but ds and dh went and said it was virtually full capacity.
My GP thinks it's sciatica 😟 I started off with pain in my groin and hip but now it's in my lower leg.
The screen we were in was full , it wasn't cleaned very well when we left either, the man just dusted the pop corn off the seat with his hand even though he had a spray and cloth in his hand to wipe the seats down 🙄

  • Struggled to get to sleep last night due to the leg but did fall asleep eventually, I am supposed to be staying at home all day today but need to nip out to the pet shop because we have run out of puppy pads for B, we get them from amazon but they haven't turned up this month 🤷‍♀️ I am going to see if I can find a walnut whip while I'm out😀 it's for medicinal purposes only 😀

I have Annual leave to use up at work so phoned them today to see if I could get my long day off on Sunday but it's too short staffed, they are letting me start at 9am instead though so I don't have to walk to work.I can get a bus at 8.30 to get there for 9. Hopefully it won't be massively busy and I might be able to leave early. I'm trying not to go off sick because I've had too much time off already this year.

Right I had better get myself ready to go out

Maybe ask the physio about the heel thing because it is a little odd & I would like to know.  It seems a little odder that I can jog (on tiptoes) easier than walk.  I try to do 12500 steps a day, which I do up & down the ground floor through room.  I don't do them outside as the ground is too uneven & frankly is a version of torture.

It's quite common if you have Sciatica for the pain to go under the foot via your heel and on into your toes. I looked up some exercises last night plus ones to avoid and they said to avoid anything that stretches your hamstrings so I think the toe walking helps because your hamstring is relaxed when walking in this way. I will ask when I speak to them though 😊

That makes total sense.  Some mornings I wake up & it feels like someone is trying to tear my calf muscles.

Well I went to the pet shop for puppy pads but they were £25 a packet and I'm not paying that 🙀I have ordered some from Amazon anyway and they will hopefully arrive tomorrow. I got some to tide us over in the £ shop where to my annoyance I also found red acrylic paint....too bad I'd also ordered that from Amazon too 🙄

I am also happy to report that I finally have walnut whips they are M&S ones so not quite what I wanted but better than nothing. I was also very naughty and bought pizza with garlic baguettes for tea,I shared it with DD but it was still over my calorie limit for the day. I was feeling in need of a treat though so will just have to suck it up if I put weight on this week.

The weather was awful when I went out and has steadily got worse as the day has gone on,it's now absolutely chucking it down out there and quite windy. I'm hoping this will calm down before the morning or I'm going to get soggy on the way to work😟

Enjoy the walnut whips. You have done really well so a treat won’t hurt as long as you don’t go too mad 👍
The leg sounds a real pain - literally 😵‍💫
