I have mixed reviews about the paint job done on stair wall today. To start with I am not happy about the quality of the one coat paint I bought as it's definitely going to need another coat, this paint is £25 a tin and so far as I can tell it's no different to bog standard emulsion.
The wall looks ok but I always paint the underside of my coving in whatever colour I put on the wall,it gives a neater finish to the edges. My man didn't do this so you can see that the coving is white on the front where he painted it today but underneath it's the old colour paint so looks weird, the coving will need doing again as it's patchy,to be fair that's not his fault and he has said he would come back and do another coat if it dried patchy, the coving had got very discoloured so I'm not surprised it will need another coat.
I can say however that he has done a good job of replacing my front door handle with a shiny new one, it looks so nice and normal now, the locks were also sticking so he put some lubricant on them for me, they are working perfectly now so no more sticky door🎉🎉
I painted the rest of the walls after he had gone and although they are not patchy it will need another coat , I also painted a first coat on the coving and a second coat on the door frames and the sides of the stairs, I still have four doors to paint ,the landing rails, and the loft hatch upstairs then the walls downstairs can be done along with all then coving and skirting boards. I'm on holiday again next week so I'm hoping to get it finished while I'm off
I also walked B twice, she only had two short walks today because she looks like she is struggling a bit with her joints again,I gave her half a paracetamol in some meat which seemed to help. The 🐓🐓spent the day running round the garden so they were cleaned out and everything topped up,I have finally managed to buy them some worms so they will stop complaining now 😀funnily enough I hadn't had any eggs for the last few days but the day after I got them some worms there was an egg laid for me today 😀
I even found time to bake a banana loaf, which I won't be eating. I didn't want to waste the bananas,DD2 will eat it though, it smelled so good I was soooooo tempted to eat some but resisted
I got some washing done as well today ( this is what happens if you get up at 7.30 on your day instead of 10am 😂) it was almost dry when I got it in but the weather here today has been very changeable so I didn't think it would dry properly. I am now sitting here watching the rain and listening to the wind as storm Evert pays us a visit, what a difference to last week when I was sitting here with my feet in a bowl of cold water 🙀
I working tomorrow so will be busy in clinic 9-5 my normal partner in crime isn't working so I'm not sure who will be with me,I hope it's someone who knows what they are doing 🤞🤞

Fingers crossed it is someone who is okay.
I imagine your chickens agreeing to an egg strike unless you get them worms. They’re always so funny with the stories you tell us.Hopefully the painting will be finished and look much better.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x1 -
I only ever tried the 1 coat paint once - never again. It might work if the paint underneath is pristine but I don’t paint pristine walls. It’s a pity the painter didn’t do a better job, but I’m pleased your door handle looks good.
😂😂Your chickens make me laugh. Rewarding you with an egg for their worms 😂😂
There’s certainly a big difference in the weather….something in between the 2 would be good.January spends - £587.580 -
I am not a fan of one coat paints either. It sounds as if it wasn't his fault if you are finding the other walls are also patchy. And fresh paint always makes the other paintwork look grubby I find!
Hopefully he can come back and give it another coat and it will look good.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
Another busy Sunday shift done and dusted and I was very glad to get out of there. It seems that the RSV virus that we normally get in the winter has hit now and it's really nasty this year, we had so many poorly babies yesterday. One of the nurses didn't get a lunch break until 6.30 pm 🙀if this carries on we will will be on our knees by the time it should hit in the winter 😢
Im now on holiday again thank god ,I booked this week off by mistake and was going to cancel it but I'm too tired to be at work after yesterday so I'm glad I kept it now. I'm having a day off just chilling today and then tomorrow will be painting again.
I have my SW meeting tonight but my normal leader has had to self isolate so it will be a different lady. I've had quite a good week apart from yesterday when I didn't get an evening break so couldn't eat any decent food. I had three custard creams and a banana for my tea which I ate while waiting for the bus at 8.30pm, I had a shower and went to bed when I got home so didn't eat anything else. I'm looking forward to seeing how much weight I've lost. I found a SW podcast this week too so have been listening to that,it's like going to a meeting every day and is helping to keep me on track, it's not endorsed by SW but is run by a SW consultant and one of her members, it's really good
