Glad you’re ok, good to hear from you. Sounds like things are moving on the flooring front, hopefully you’ll hear something soon. Home improvement type places seem to be really busy at the minute.
Thanks SA things are definitely moving, I'm having doubts now about the floor I've picked 🙄. It's a nice oak looking floor and I haven't gone for a grey carpet I've gone for a dark beige colour,I made him laugh though because I asked him to show me colours the same shade as one of the stains on the current carpet,to be fair my current carpet is cream so it was never going to survive me, two cats and a dog and until my carpet cleaner broke it didn't look to bad
It does sound like they are busy and he only came round on Friday evening, I'm not counting the weekend so it's not been long really

It’s exciting that things are coming together. We have a dark speckled biscuit carpet downstairs and on the stairs and it does really well for not showing stains. I use a carpet cleaner a few times a year and that keeps it looking ok. It doesn’t show the bits have as much as the grey carpets upstairs.
Pleased the gs birthday celebrations went well.

Just got the quote for the flooring and it's come in at £2,465,it's £304 just to do the stairs 🙀🙀I'm not sure if this is the going rate but it's out of my price range 😟I'm trying another company now. I was expecting around the £1700 mark

That is expensive, definitely worth getting a few quotes.

How many floors is that for? Stair carpets aren’t cheap.

So just gone back to my emails because I asked for two quotes for the flooring but I thought he'd only sent one. The second quote was for £2049.63 with a cheaper laminate but also included £105 to remove and dispose of the old carpets so the price is actually £1944.63 which is more in line with my budget so I'm going too think about it over the weekend. I've looked the products up online and they aren't expensive, the carpet is around £8.99 per m squared and the laminate is about £12 something 🤷‍♀️ The only thing now is that now I've looked at them again I'm not sure about the colour I've picked 😀😀
The carpet is Pembridge Heather in flax if anyone wants to look it up 😊 and the laminate is called Kensington and I picked Visionary Oak

I think that’s a reasonable quote for flooring and stair carpet especially when if they’re removing the old ones. From experience things are always more expensive than you think.
