Back from the shops with hopefully enough cat litter to last the two of them until Saturday when the shopping arrives. I also decluttered three cushions and some kitchen bits that DD2 wanted to get rid of but had left in the living room. I have a picture that was hanging behind my settee that I was going to donate but I don't have anything to replace it with yet so I'm hanging it back up today,it's just a generic picture of some trees that I bought in Next several years ago and I do like it but wanted something a bit more personal and bigger, I haven't got money to waste on artwork though so it's going back up 😀

I've got my second load of washing just about to finish so will peg that out in a minute then I'm off to scrub some doors

Finally had a productive day 🎉🎉 I've cleaned both doors in the living room and painted one, it will need a second coat I think,I also painted the rest of the skirting on walls one and two so just three and four to paint now.

I phoned the flooring people and spoke to a very nice helpful man who is coming to see me on the 9th of July with lots of samples, he is recommending laminate but is also bringing LVT and sheet Vinyl too, I have been looking at their insta page and I'm liking the laminate floors they are laying so think I will probably go with his suggestion. He has also recommended a twist pile carpet for the stairs and landing as this is easy to clean, they have a nice grey one I like  the look of but I'm not sure if it's too dark or if it will go with the paint I'm going to be doing the walls with,I will just have to wait and see 😊

I'm going to plod on with my decorating while I wait to see what happens with the floors. I also cleaned the kitchen today and did a general clean and tidy of the house. I managed to strip my bed get the bedding washed dried and back on the the bed, I can't wait to get into nice clean sheets 😀I haven't actually been sleeping under my duvet because I've been too hot, I have a nice chenille throw that's lovely and soft, it's not too thick but just warm enough for hot nights

I didn't get my banking done today but will try and do that when I get home tomorrow. I'm working 9-5 tomorrow in clinics so a short day for me. I have Saturday off and I'm meeting my mum for lunch then working my long day on Sunday. My next day off then is Monday so I will be painting again then 😊

That sounds positive about the flooring, @Onebrokelady. It will be so nice finally to get it done. Our new stair/landing carpet will be grey, the same one that we've already had laid upstairs in the bedroom, man cave & my little HQ. Luckily we don't need to bother downstairs as lounge has a stripped floor, & bathroom, hall & kitchen are all tiled. I'd proper love some new vinyl in the conservatory though.
When we went in to choose our new carpet, we couldn't believe how many different shades of grey there were! They insisted on lending us a sample book so I could try them out next to our wall colour.

I'm feeling quite excited about it now I've called them,I know what you mean about shades of grey, the one I saw on their page was quite dark which I thought was more animal friendly 😀 I'm hoping he's got lots of samples to show me

That’s a great amount in your Christmas fund already. I should start but have been preoccupied and not bothering.

exciting about the carpet and changing. It’s always nice when you have plans to change something.

    Have a lovely day x

We had a dark grey carpet in our bedroom - dh choice. I’d chosen virtually everything else and he doesn’t often express a preference. I preferred the lighter mid grey shade. It shows every speck of dust. When we had the gks room done recent I chose the mid grey….in reality it’s not much lighter than our bedroom but doesn’t seem to show the bits up as much.
The cash figures are looking good 👍

Thanks for this Milann, I am planning on changing the living room carpet and was going darker to not show up the marks but seems a balance of mid is better x

Hi everyone sorry I've been awol for a few days I've been busy and not really got much to say 😀
Floor man came on Friday and showed me some samples, there were so many to chose from but I picked out a selection of two laminate floors and a stair carpet, he is going to email me with prices soon hopefully ,I haven't heard anything yet but I'm not sure how long I should wait before hassling him 😀there is another company I liked the look of so I might get them out as well if he doesn't get back to me soon
We celebrated DGS 2s second birthday at the weekend which was fun, he is such a funny little character and makes me laugh constantly
I'm on holiday this week and have been busy catching up on house things,I was ill yesterday so spent the day not doing too much. Today I'm cracking on with the painting, we have pulled the landing and stairs carpet up and I have scrubbed everywhere so I can now also paint all the woodwork out there
Money wise I'm just pootling along and am happy with the finances at the moment. I need to update my signature though I've just noticed 😀
Hope everyone else in diary land is ok

Glad you’re ok, good to hear from you. Sounds like things are moving on the flooring front, hopefully you’ll hear something soon. Home improvement type places seem to be really busy at the minute.

Hi OBL, I had been hoping you were ok. Positive on the flooring. Hope that progresses soon.
