Defo worth giving 'Eleanor Oliphant' a go, @Onebrokelady. I loved it. I borrowed the audiobook from the library a good while ago.
Also, have you read 'Wakenhyrst' by Michelle Paver? My sister gave me her copy when she was having a tidy-out & I really enjoyed it. Some of your interests are similar to mine so I thought you might like this book, if you haven't already read it, of course!

Hi, OBL, just delurking to join the discussion on books :) I've read both the above and loved them; they are very different subject matter.  I grew up in Suffolk (where Wakenhyrst is set) and it made me want to explore the locations when i next go there.
    I enjoy your diary :)

I'm really looking forward to it, I have seen my mum a few times over the year but if I go to the house my dad tends to dominate the conversation  and she doesn't end up saying much to me, I like to get her away from the house if I can 😊
