I have finally caught up with your diary, it does sound as though you may have long Covid . I do hope your headache hasn't returned and that you are generally feeling better . I have been thinking recently about cutting my hours down slightly as I feel ready to retire already but I am a little young yet at 58 but part time appeals more and more . However working from home is helping a lot so will probably stay on .Have you had your second vaccine yet ? Did you finish your jumper or have I. Issued you telling us that ?Enjoy the weekend .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

I'm 57 so a year younger than you and I have to admit I would retire tomorrow if I could, I'm going to hang on as long as I can though so I can get my finances sorted out first
I can have my second vaccine in April, we have to wait 12 weeks even though we are nurses 😟I need to rebook it actually because I booked it for the wrong date 🙄
I haven't finished my jumper 😳 mainly because I've lost my motivation for knitting at the moment, I've got Sunday and Monday off so might get back to it thenOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
Day off today and I woke up feeling not very motivated to do a lot but I have managed to do some jobs. I took B for a lovely walk and although it's chilly today the sun was out 🎉🎉 I stood in the middle of the lane with it shining on my back and just savoured the heat, B kept giving me the look to say what do you think you are doing 😀
I came back and procrastinated for a bit before going to tidy up the kitchen,I ended up giving the oven a wipe out too so that's another job done, I've hoovered and dusted as well 😊
I then went to sort the 🐓🐓and was landed with an unexpected job outside. We have rats in our garden and a could of years ago they got in my run and caused havoc,I have now slabbed the run to stop them getting in. The other day I noticed one of the slabs was a bit wobbly but they are laid on bare earth so not perfect, today the slab was dipping down in one corner and there was a rat sized hole so I lifted it up and discovered tunnels underneath in the soil, I've just spent time filling it all back in and replacing the slab, they will dig it out again but it will take them a while,I laid the slabs on bare earth instead of putting any hardcore down because it's where my lawn used to be and I don't want a permanent base in case I put the lawn back at some point. I have now come up with a cunning plan,so when the weather improves I'm going to lift the slabs and put a layer of weldmesh underneath, they can't chew through that so that should solve the problem 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8946 -
That's a good focus for getting your finances sorted, OBL. When I left work (long story), I was only 46 & if I hadn't had the famous LBM a couple of years beforehand, it wouldn't have been an option. In fact, it would have been a disaster, but because I'd had such a big change of attitude & done the hard yards with paying down our debt, I was able to pay off the last little bit from my redundancy settlement. I spotted your 'amount owing' in your signature the other day & can see that you will soon be presenting a figure that starts with a '13'. That is a decent drop, OBL, from a figure starting with a '17' & over halfway to an '18' from the looks of things. Of course, I didn't 'know' you before, but it is so obvious now how you are really reluctant to spend money on unnecessary stuff, when you can have it for the future to make yourself more secure, so I have no doubt that you will continue with paying that number down. Hope I am still posting on here when you get out of double figures, so I can give you a virtual cheer!
Just keep going m'dear & you will get there.
