My journey to a debt free life

I am sorry to hear your sister also suffers with TN, it's a hellish condition and I couldn't believe I ended up with that as well as Fibromyalgia, luckily it seems to have calmed down a lot over the last year or so, every time I get a slight tingle in my face I dread it turning into a full on attack, they always start with a tingle from the corner of my eye down over my cheek and across my top lip, then if I'm unlucky that turns into burning then unbearable pain, I have discovered that putting a gel ice pack on my face can stop it in its tracks but only if I get there quick enoughfoxgloves said:OBL - My sister suffers from that condition (TN) so I know quite a bit about how horrible it is.
Hope you pick up soon, as this is just way too long to be poorly.

So I woke up several times in the night with a headache which was still there when I got to work, I went to Boots and spoke to the pharmacist, they got me to fill out a questionnaire which led them to giving me some migraine tablets (sumatriptan) I took the first one and about 30 minutes later the headache was gone and it hasn't come back 🎉🎉🎉
Work was crazy today and the afternoon was made worse by things not working as they should ,we left late as well but I got a lift home so still got home earlier than normal
I have just been catching up on here while I wait for a load of washing to finish then I'm going to bed because I'm shatteredOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -

She has an awful time with it, OBL. It is quite well controlled on a big dose of tablets but her GP reduces the dose every so often, leading to bad breakthrough pain. You're right, it's a horrible condition. She says a heat pad can be helpful but has to act quickly. If sufferers don't fancy that rather scary sounding op, the alternative just seems to be to live with it. It seems there's always some random thing out there ready to get us, doesn't it?

I found the first year after diagnosis was the worst then it seemed to calm down a bit but I have regular flare ups, I do feel for her because I know how awful it is, heat sometimes works on mine, to be honest I think anything that can interrupt the pain message along the nerve will help, I found ice interrupts it instantly but you have to keep it there for a good time so it stops the pain, I was told I would just have to learn to live with it 😟 because there isn't a lot they can do.foxgloves said:She has an awful time with it, OBL. Wow I was actually up at 9.30 today 🎉🎉 I haven't been very productive yet though. I've walked B and chucked a load of washing in which has just finished so I can hang that up now. I didn't get shopping on my way home last night because i got a lift and I was going to go today but I don't want to go into town. I'm going to sort the house today and go in tomorrow instead. I only need a couple of bits that I missed off the online shop 🙄
