I found the same problem with tubes of toiletries, even from what I considered an eco-friendly brand. Tubs are the way to go and I can now get refills from a bring-your-own-packaging shop near us but not everyone has one in reach.
One thing that I found helpful is to reuse the little bottles that face and hair serums come in and which have a pump action dispenser. It's a bit of a faff getting other products in - you put a dab of product on top then swirl it in using the straw on the dispenser - but doesn't need doing too often. There will be trace of the original product left in the tube (or water if you've washed it out) but this is out of the system soon after and the small size is brilliant for handbags or travel (when we can do that again). I peel the old labels off and write the new contents on with a sharpie. It saves some of that tedious 'bottle upside down' time when you know the original container has some in and it takes two days to drain down.
I love your door handle story... Why not spray it gold and make a feature of it?

Thanks for the toiletries tips Cherry ,I'm definitely going to investigate alternatives to tubes. Spraying the spanner gold is a genius idea 😂😂Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942

What a day I woke up to. Everything was frozen solid,I don't know how DD got out of our house to work without falling over the steps were each covered in a solid sheet of ice 🙀🙀 I waited until 12 to take B out because the sun was out melting it all. It's now black as anything out there and about to chuck it down by the looks of it.i need to sort the 🐓🐓but I haven't been out the back yet so I'm not sure what it's like out there. I'm sitting here with layers on and the heating and I'm still not very warm,I might have to put my gloves on in a minute 🙀🙀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943

I expect the magazine has sold out, the March issue is out next week so I doubt they'll be refilling their shelves. A local newsagents may have it still. Hope you enjoyed your doughnuts anyway 😆 We've got snow and it's settling, the sky is white and full of it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

I decided to read the DMP mutual support thread tonight and realised I hadn't heard from SC about my yearly review, they normally send an email warning that it's coming up so I checked and no email so I logged into my SC account and it should have been done in December 🙀I don't know why I haven't heard from them, anyway I tried to do it online but as usual it came back with budget not agreed so I have to phone them now which is annoying because DD is on holiday this week so I will have to try and do it while she is at home. I did notice while I was there that my debt is less than I thought, I had it at £14,200 but it was actually £14,169.77 so that was a bonus. It's also opened up a can of worms in my head though as one of my debts is now down to £608 so I could actually pay that off in one go if I wanted to but not do my floors yet, of course SC wouldn't like it but it would cut my debt down a bit. I would also have a problem explaining where the money has gone because DD knows Im using her rent to do the house jobsOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943

Could you part-pay it? If you put say £100 towards the debt then you will still have a goodly chunk towards the floors, but just do the floors a little later. It won't be as satisfying as getting rid of the debt all at once but you will have brought it closer, and thus potentially brought the end date of all your debt closer.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. I think the feel good factor of living with your floors finished would do you the world of good...the debt will get paid in time as it’s on a plan but if you spend the money for your floors and your dd suddenly moves out it might be a long time until you can afford to do it again. It’s a tricky decision especially as you can’t talk it over with your dd.January spends - £587.582
