enthusiasticsaver said:We used some nice bottles with battery operated fairy lights as centrepieces and decorations in our living room and conservatory over Christmas and they look lovely. Flowers or greenery in a vase look lovely and to be MSE you can pick stuff from the garden or hedgerows. Can't beat candles either.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942

HairyHandofDartmoor said:Wow your fairly lights and twig tree look lovely SA 🙂. I'm keeping up my fairy lights until the spring this year to cheer me up, mine are red berry lights which go all around our picture rail and meet up in the middle. They give a lovely warm glow. I like the green colour of your walls SA.
OBL I think in tier 3 all shops can open but pubs, restaurants and coffee shops can only serve takeaway food and drinks. I think that's the case anyway 🤔, it's very confusing! Crowded places terrify me at the moment 😱.
I think eating more vegetables is a good idea OBL and I should follow your example. I'm another vegetarian that doesn't eat many vegetables 🤣, although I do eat a lot of fruit and follow a wholewheat, low fat diet mostly.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942 -
Started today off with a lie in followed by a dog walk through the fields. It's been very cold, dark and dreary today. I came home and read a magazine while I had a coffee then sorted the 🐓🐓out. I made them some warm mash from their layers pellets and gave them extra worms to cheer them up. This afternoon I started to take my Christmas decorations down,I've done the hall and all the bits in the living room that are free standing,I've just got my tree and paper chains to take down now, I really don't want to take my tree down but need to by the end of Tuesday, it left me feeling a bit glum to be honest 😟 but I'm sure I just need to get back to my normal routine and it will be fine. Today was also a NSD so I'm pleased with that, I'm hoping for another one tomorrow
I am back at work tomorrow doing a 9-5 in clinics, it's a busy blood clinic tomorrow so I will be doing blood tests all day, I don't normally do this Monday clinic but the person who does it is on holiday but has also broken her foot so won't be there. I also need to speak to the matrons tomorrow because I have too many shifts next week, I'm supposed to do two short shifts and one long day but I've got three short shifts, they will either have to take me off Wednesday or Friday to make my hours right, either way I get three days off in a row 🎉🎉🎉Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
Just thought I would share some photos of B enjoying her walk, I don't normally let her off the lead but there was no one around so I took a chance,I had treats in my pocket to encourage her to come back 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8947

I felt a bit glum today after taking my Christmas decorations down, but I still have my fairy lights up. I lit some candles in the kitchen whilst cooking and eating to make it more cheerful. I'll get used to it but I do miss the decorations.
I hope you can get your shifts sorted out properly. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Aww, she looks like a nice characterful little dog, OBL.
Re fairy light receptacles.... investigate your kitchen cupboards too. I like to use a swirly glass decanter for my lights. It never seems to get used for its intended purpose, but with a few centimetres of beach-combed (therefore free!) sea glass in the bottom, then a small set of lights stuffed in, it has been re-purposed into something quite striking.
I also have a circa 1960 purple glass vase which currently has hyacinths in it but I think it too could look good with lights coiled inside.
Enjoy experimenting!
