I was fuming when she told me, I'm still trying to decide whether to find out if there is anyone to complain to about the lack of staff rooms and the fact that people are expected to eat outside in winterNicnak said:Fuming on behalf of your DD. I have been a bit productive today, I managed to get the decorations out of the loft so they are all piled up on the landing waiting for us to get cracking,I think we will have to do them on Saturday and Sunday because it takes a while to do them. I also changed both our beds,DD usually does her own but I did it for her because she is so tired when she gets in, she was very happy when she saw it 😊
We had an online food delivery tonight as well so the fridge and freezer is stocked up again, I didn't actually buy any freezer food because I haven't used what I've got so need to start eating some of that to make room for Christmas food. We bought advent calendars for B and both the cats ,the cat ones have catnip treats in them and they must be fairly strong because Jcat went mad when he smelled it,he was licking the packaging and then tried to rip it open, I took them to hide them in my room and he ran up the stairs behind me and tried to get in my room🙀I'm not sure if we should give it to him now because he might turn into a bit of a loony 😀
I forgot to say when I posted earlier that I finally got round to checking my bank yesterday. All my bills have been paid and my account is looking healthy 😊I had to remember to transfer some money over for the Christmas shopping I've done this week, I will check again in a few days to make sure all the payments for pressies have come out so I know where I am with my Christmas budget. I still don't know what to buy my Mum,Dad and Son in law and I'm waiting for board game ideas for the DGSs, I will message DD1 again tomorrow to jog her memory otherwise they will be getting money. I just want Christmas sorted so I can start saving up for my flooring againOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
Your poor DD... as if she hadn't got enough to cope with.
Can she take a flask of hot soup or hot chocolate to get her through the outdoor eating? Making her bed up for her was a nice idea, and so are the decorations. I think a lot of people are desperate for Christmas to start in any form. I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

She normally takes sandwiches because there's nowhere to keep anything, she can get a hot drink from the coffee shop but she normally drinks water or juice at work.Cherryfudge said:Your poor DD... as if she hadn't got enough to cope with.

I just want to get to next year, I'm not sure why though because it's not going to magically change on New Year's Day 😀🙄

I know... but there will be change, and maybe we won't have long to wait for it.Onebrokelady said:

On the subject of facilities for hospital staff, one of the hospitals where DS2 had a placement had no changing facilities for male nurses. Honestly, the NHS would get nowhere without its staff, you'd think there would be investment to give them a decent standard of work environment.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. Ours is the same, I normally get changed in the loo but have also got changed in the staff room while praying no one walks in on me in my undies 😀 I have to say a lot of trusts don't value their staff properly, they make lots of noise about supporting us but it's all lip service reallyCherryfudge said:

I think it’s absolutely disgusting that there are no facilities for staff....especially during winter.....where do they expect people to go in the snow and ice which might not be too far away. 😡😡January spends - £587.583

I agree with the others it’s no way to treat those who have had no choice but to put their health at risk to look after others during this pandemic. Absolutely shameful 😡I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

A letter to the Trust CEO might help though I doubt it. Staff must have decent facilities for their breaks and for a manager to waste their time in that fashion is also appalling.
