pleased to hear your doctors visit was useful. Take care and don’t rush back too soon.

  • Hoping the inhaler helps too.
I didn't even think about your chickens when I read about the flu. I always just assumed it was connected to the huge chicken farms used for meat.

No it applies to anyone keeping poultry because if mine catch it from a wild bird I could accidentally spread it on my shoes elsewhere,so I am supposed to disinfect my shoes now if I go out to the chickens, I don't do this because the shoes I wear don't leave my house or garden. If my hens fall ill with symptoms I have to notify the vet and Defra and they have to be destroyed to stop it spreading into the wild bird population who then could carry it to a poultry farm causing a massive problem 🙁they now have to be kept in and under cover so there is no chance of them mixing with wild birds who spread the disease round the country if they catch it, it's a flaming nightmare and not nice for chickens, last time they were locked in for weeks 😟

Thanks SA, there was a case in Dawlish so a little bit away from me but if it's in the wild bird population it could go anywhere, my two are getting on so I wouldn't like them to catch it,I gave them extra worms and an apple today to make up for being locked in all day,I need to make sure there aren't any gaps for birds to get in their run,I don't think there are but I had better check sometime this week, back in the summer there was a cheeky little robin going in and helping himself to their food but that was because the door was open 😀
