I talk to my dog and cat all the time. It’s surprising how many words dogs understand. On the subject of cats and Christmas trees, my old tom cat used to shin up the middle of ours. It was a nightmare trying to get him out, him clinging on and the baubles going everywhere 😂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Hello everyone I'm just popping in for five minutes while I have a quick coffee.I had to pop out to my local Boots just now for some of my indigestion tablets and the queue was ridiculous, there was a group of four ladies doing their Christmas shopping who were querying the special offers so it took ages. I also wanted a couple of nice ready meals for the next two days to try and tempt me to eat so went to M&S which is in the same area and the queue for there was about 20 people long, I did wait though because I also needed bread for my lunch, the queue actually went down quite quickly and I was lucky because the ladies from Boots joined it just behind me so at least I got in before they did 😀 they were also shopping online on their phones while waiting to get into the shop 🙀
I've made some headway this week with Christmas shopping and have ordered DD1s present which arrived this morning. I asked her to give me ideas and she said she wanted a pair of gloves but they were £50 🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀from All Saints, they would have been £75 but there was money off 🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀 I asked her if she was sure because that's all she would be getting and she said yes so I bought them for her, she knows I will still get her bits to go with it though 🙄 but I've only bought her the usual Pjs and socks, I still can't believe I've just paid £50 for a pair of gloves, they are leather but still
I am supposed to be getting the Christmas decorations out of the loft today but need to fortify myself first, I would wait but poor DD2 is feeling so down I thought it would cheer her up, she came home and cried on Monday because she was so stressed out from work and yesterday she had to sit outside in the rain to eat her lunch because there aren't enough places for staff to sit inside the building and still be able to socially distance themselves, she is working on the Covid wards and still doesn't feel very well so it's getting on top of her, she was outside eating her lunch with two colleagues and one fo her bosses came out with a tape measure and told them they weren't sitting far enough apart, the fact that they had to sit outside in seats covered in bird poop in the rain should have been enough to shut him up. I would have gone mad if it had been me sat out there. So I'm getting the decorations down today 😊

That’s not good - fancy having to sit outside after looking after COVID patients 😡😡😡
I wonder if she’d have benefitted from a few days extra off work too...maybe she’s still suffering herself.January spends - £587.582 -

How are the chickens coping? Do you talk to them and apologise and try to explain? I do that to the rabbits if they have to go in for a bit. I say things like "It won't be long, I'll let you out in a bit". Anyone listening would think I had gone nuts!

Aww poor DD having to eat her lunch in the rain. Has that manager got nothing better to do?😡 There were about ten of us in the staffroom today at breaktime and the window was shut until I opened it when I arrived 😳. I don't know what the head teacher would have said, but I didn't fancy being in the classroom all on my own 😕. I did at least open the window to let some fresh air circulate and the door to the corridor was open as well as the door to the playground. They are a bit lax at my school about social distancing where the staff are concerned 😱 but it's an old victorian school building and with small rooms and narrow corridors so we don't really stand a chance 🤔. I think that because it's impossible to socially distance at our school the staff have given up trying 🙄.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
