Today I got up at 9.30 which is a record for me on a day off,I haven't actually achieved much though. We took B out for a short walk but didn't go too far because she seems a bit stiff this week😟 I sorted the 🐓🐓when I got back so they are happy in the garden now. DD has stripped her bed and it's just finished in the machine so I can hang that up now and I need to run the hoover round downstairs then I'm knitting to see if I can get this blanket done before my wool turns up
Me and DD had a conversation about Christmas while we were out with B, we have no idea what to buy each other and I said I didn't really want anything this year as it feels like we are just buying each other things for the sake of it, so we chatted about the things we really like doing and have decided to just buy each other some crafty things that we can make, that way we get to have the enjoyment of making something so the gift lasts longer
I've ordered her an embroidery kit because she wants to try embroidery and I've also got her a cross stitch kit that doubles up as a Christmas ornament ( we buy each other a Christmas ornament each year ) she has just bought herself a Kindle so has asked for a kindle voucher instead of books because we always buy each other a couple of books too
I'm not sure what DD1 is going to suggest this year, I have asked her for some ideas just in case she has anything in mind thoughOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8946 -
I agree with the present buying this year feeling extra hard.
I asked another family member if we are just exchanging vouchers shall we just send good wishes instead but they still want to. I would just buy for nephew and Dh/DD/Ds and leave the rest. We never get anything we particularly want or find useful and we buy because they buy for us. Some of it goes straight to the charity shop 🙈 awful l know but l guess someone is benefitting from it. Next year l am going to tell them we aren't buying earlier in the year.

My cousin sounds like your sister. She’s obsessed with politics, isn’t happy about the US election results and is posting rubbish about a fix on FB. I don’t respond to her political posts but as far as I can see that’s what the majority have gone for so deal with it. I would say to her what’s it got to do with you but my family are half American.
My DD also doesn’t particularly want anything for Christmas, she’s like me if she wants something she buys it for herself which makes it hard. The craft idea is great 👍I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -

I have an auntie that sounds like your sister. I cut her out as soon as I was old enough to. My mum has since done the same. My life is so bmuch more drama free now xOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -

I'm an only child and really miss the idea of siblings...until I hear this kind of thing and then I wonder whether I've had a lucky escape!
I love the idea of getting my children a christmas decoration every year...I don't have many traditions in place. We've just started trying to do the panto with the grandchildren yearly, this is the second year..2 -
FrankieM I have taken grandchildren to panto every year from the time they were about 3. The oldest is now 24 and still wants to go. The 18year old goes but I am not sure if she really wants to or its to keep Granny happy. This year we are not going as I am not that keen on the idea of there only being a few people in the audience ( I dont think the atmosphere will be there) and being in an enclosed space for a couple of hours. I hope you enjoy it with your grandchildren.
