My cousin sounds like your sister. She’s obsessed with politics, isn’t happy about the US election results and is posting rubbish about a fix on FB.  I don’t respond to her political posts but as far as I can see that’s what the majority have gone for so deal with it. I would say to her what’s it got to do with you but my family are half American.

My DD also doesn’t particularly want anything for Christmas, she’s like me if she wants something she buys it for herself which makes it hard. The craft idea is great 👍

so I thought I would start off with a plain knit jumper then graduate to an Aran jumper or cardigan, when my girls were little I used to knit them all their jumpers and and cardigans, you should definitely knit something for yourself
If you haven't knitted for some time your tension may be a little off.  If you start with an aran pattern it will be much less noticable.  Even a rib would be better than plain knit.

Also glad you have at least one nice sister.
I have an auntie that sounds like your sister. I cut her out as soon as I was old enough to. My mum has since done the same. My life is so bmuch more drama free now x
It's so much easier not to talk to them, the pair of them make me feel ill so I avoid like the plague

I agree with the present buying this year feeling extra hard.

I asked another family member if we are just exchanging vouchers shall we just send good wishes instead but they still want to. I would just buy for nephew and Dh/DD/Ds and leave the rest. We never get anything we particularly want or find useful and we buy because they buy for us. Some of it goes straight to the charity shop 🙈 awful l know but l guess someone is benefitting from it. Next year l am going to tell them we aren't buying earlier in the year.
It's just habit mostly I think, my wider family don't buy for each other any more, I just buy for my DDs my two DGSs my son in law and my Mum and Dad and my best friend  so not that many people really 😊

That's partly why I'm knitting the cat a blanket,I thought I could test my tension while I was  at it 😊

It annoyed me even more because she messaged me privately and said she didn't want to write on my Facebook page as if i was stupid and and hadn't heard the nasty rumours spread by Trumpton, I wish she had posted on my page because she would have been pulled up by quite a few people, not one person has commented on my post to say anything negative which should tell her something

I'm an only child and really miss the idea of siblings...until I hear this kind of thing and then I wonder whether I've had a lucky escape!
I love the idea of getting my children a christmas decoration every year...I  don't have many traditions in place. We've just started trying to do the panto with the grandchildren yearly, this is the second year..

FrankieM    I have taken grandchildren to panto every year from the time they were about 3. The oldest is now 24 and still wants to go. The 18year old goes but I am not sure if she really wants to or its to keep Granny happy. This year we are not going as I am not that keen on the idea of there only being a few people in the audience ( I dont think the atmosphere will be there) and being in an enclosed space for a couple of hours. I hope you enjoy it with your grandchildren.
