That sounds like a really good thing for you. Your health is really important and if you can make it work, then that's going to benefit you so much in the long run x
Hopefully it will make a difference,I'm not dropping them by a lot ,it's just 4hours from 30.5 to 26.5 so I will be doing one long day (11.5 hours) and two shorter days of 7.5 hours. At the moment I do two long days and one short, it's still three days a week but shorter hours on two of the days, I just hope I can make it work but if not I'm hoping 6 months of reduced hours might perk me up a bit 😊

Great idea and as it’s on a trial basis you have the option to go back to full hours if you need to 👍
That's what I thought, my old boss said we weren't allowed to drop our hours on a trial basis or I would have done it before 😟

I reduced my hours a couple of years ago and I've not regretted it, though I do, in normal times, have the option of picking up extras. I made the decision following an accident that happened when I kept pushing myself to 'do something useful' instead of resting after what I always felt to be the most tiring part of my shift pattern. Taking a couple of months sick leave to recover is one way to stand back and take stock! I'd recommend trying it on a planned basis instead. :)

SA, that sounds like a wonderful Christmas, really lovely. :)

The best Christmas we ever had was when we decided to drive to the coast on Christmas Day with the dog and had a lovely walk on the beach.  We took a picnic which we ate in the car and we sat outside a pub with a drink (mainly so we could use their toilet as public ones were closed). The weather was unseasonably warm and sunny and the roads were empty. Sadly this was shortly before Mr SA became ill the following March. Very fond memories of that day.
When we lived in Brighton we would go to the beach in the afternoon on Xmas day when our big two were small. It was always nice to get down there for a walk along the seafront. I do miss that.

I don’t think we will get to dds at Christmas - I’ll miss the children who are still at the lovely ages of 6 and 3 so very much still believe in the magic. We usually go for a walk along the cost nearby too. It’ll be a different Christmas with the bubble of ds with myself and dh (hopefully that’ll still be in place😳) It’s the children that make it......but my son in laws family usually goo too making 8 or 9 of us.......how can they chooses who to ask 😱😱 and that’s if restrictions are lifted........
Cutting your hours sounds the way forward.....wouldn’t it be lovely if you could eventually get to 3 short days.

Three short days would be heavenly but I definitely can't afford to do that 😊
