I forgot to post this but during the week my mum phoned me and asked me if I could meet my dad at their local Mr S to help him do their shopping. Mum isn't allowed out and I'm not sure about Dad but he probably wouldn't stay in anyway. Normally they go shopping together but Dad stays in the car while Mum goes round the shop, this is because my Dad can't actually walk very far due to his heart and terrible breathing. I agreed to meet to do the shopping but suggested Dad stay in the car like normally but he wanted to come in with me and said it would be ok so long as he could stop for a rest. We managed to get nearly all the shopping apart from a couple of things that were for Dad but he wasn't worried about getting them so we left it. I was actually dreading this shopping trip because he can get quite stroppy but I have to say he was fine and we actually had a bit of a laugh,I came to a realisation that it's better to spend time with each of my parents separately as they are then not winding each other up in front of me. We also went for a coffee which was nice but I got a bit of a shock because he was saying he had an appointment at the hospital for a CT scan so naturally I asked him why and they think he's got bowel cancer, he dropped it into the conversation like he was talking about having a sore throat 🙀 he told me he has seen the consultant and she spoke to him about surgery but he has said he doesn't want it because he is 90 in December and he doesn't think it's worth it with all the other problems he's got, I did say that he could have another 10 years to annoy people and he laughed. I don't know if my mum knows why he is going for this scan because she hasn't said anything to me about it 🤷♀️ She is a bit funny about it if he says he's ill and usually tells us he is exaggerating and that he's fitter than her but he definitely isn't fitter than her,he can hardly walk and is bent over all the time and his breathing is very laboured, I'm surprised Mum has ended up with a pacemaker and not my Dad to be honest
Anyway when I got home I felt quite pleased that we had managed to get the shopping done without any drama, they are stocked up for a siege now 😀
I do feel a bit weird about Dads news because although I felt sad I also felt quite detached about it which then made me feel guilty 😟 I didn't sleep much at all last night because I had too much going round in my head so didn't get up until 12 noon 🙀🙀🙀
Today I woke up to torrential rain and lots of wind so I've not been anywhere apart from up the garden to sort out my grumpy 🐓🐓 I've left them lots nice corn, sunflower hearts and mealworms to cheer them up and I left the door to the run open in case they were mad enough to come out but the last time I looked they were both perched on the ladder up to the house looking fed up
I was going to bake a cake but I've run out of sugar so can't. I do need to start keeping good stocks of baking supplies in because lately I've been baking quite a bit especially if the weather is grim like today, you can't beat a nice cake to cheer up a grey day. I have changed my bed and put a load of washing on so haven't completely wasted the dayOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8947 -
I'm sorry about the news about your dad. Let's hope it's not that, but he sounds like his mind is made up and he's made his own decisions.
It's not stopped raining here today either. Just a constant flow of it.
I'm not surprised that you didn't sleep well with everything.

Sorry to hear about your dad. It’s a good idea to see your parents separately if it’s less stressful for you.January spends - £587.584

Yeah, that did happen to me. It's settled down a bit now though.
I do get what he means with him being nearly 90. Hopefully your mum does know otherwise that will be a difficult conversation to have.
