I watched the first episode of the A Word yesterday on BBC iPlayer, enjoyed it. My DGS is undergoing tests for Autism and I could see the similarities in behaviour. I don't know if DS watches it but will recommend it to him. Hope you made it to work on time.

Hi OBL - What a nice stylish mask! It looks a different pattern to mine. I used the pattern where you start with a rectangle, then double it & put pleats in, and it has a pocket at the back to insert an additional layer. I do have a sewing machine though. I don't think I'd have made ten if I'd had to hand sew them.
I've watched the earlier series of the A-Word, but only the first episode of this one, so I could do with catching up. It isn't my favourite programme by any means, but it is nicely character-driven drama and I do like the growing theme that they all accept Joe for who he is, rather than initially, when the storyline was more about them hoping he could be sort of trained out of some of his traits. Christopher Eccleston is very good in his role - that character makes me laugh, and the lakeland scenery is beautiful.
We're enjoying 'Cardinal' at the moment......it is hard to imagine all that snow, as we freak out here, don't we, if we get mroe than about 2cms!

I left the house ten minutes later than normal and still managed to be in time for the bus that gets me to work too early 😀I forgot it sits at the bus stop for ten minutes after I get on it so it was still there🙄

I was still early 😀  I think The A Word gets better with each series, obviously Autism is a spectrum so there are greatly varying levels of behaviour, I also like the stories of all the characters around Joe

Thanks Foxgloves,I didn't think I would be able to make the pleated ones, I found this one on YouTube, it's really easy to make there isn't a pattern as such ,you just draw a circle round a plate, you then have to fold it  and cut it before sewing it up, I picked this style because you don't need a sewing machine to make it 😀

I love Christopher Ecclestone in this programme and it was the fact that he was in it that sparked my interest. I do have a bit of a thing for him 😍😍😀

Bus and train companies seem to do that a lot. My hubby takes two trains to work (in normal times) and has six minutes to connect in the morning. Then it shifted to two minutes which just isn't doable as he goes into a large hub with many platforms so too far to walk/run. It was back to doable before lockdown, but imagine when he finally gets back in the office it will be all over the place.
