Cherryfudge said:I love my kindle - it's about five years old and the model was a couple of years old when I got it, but I use it every day for apps as well as books. As you say, a great way not to fill your house with actual books! Some of words of caution: I also have a newer Kindle which has disappeared somewhere in the house but I prefer the simpler interface of the older one (so see if you can play with different models before choosing). If you read in the bath, be aware they don't really like to be submerged. (Blushes). Kindles work well for me if I'm reading something light where I'm not likely to want to refer back to something, but for things like recipe books or 'heavier' literature, I prefer something made of paper. And lastly, while Kindle books don't take shelf space, they still form mental clutter - I took about 80 book samples off mine a few months ago!Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944

It cost £15 in total and I don't use it that much, but don't mind because I paid so little for it. xSun_Addict said:If you’re undecided you can download the kindle app on your phone or tablet and see how you go with it. I’ve never read any of the books I’ve downloaded, I prefer a proper book. I swap with a workmate or give to the charity shop when I’ve read them.
SA, I've got the kindle app on my iPad and I use it all the time,it's just that I'm fed up of taking my iPad to work so I can read, I was thinking a kindle would take up less room in my bag and possibly weigh slightly lessOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
Well that was a funny start to my day.I woke up from a dream where I had left my DGSs on a train 🙀 I then looked at my alarm clock and I swear blind it said 11 am so I jumped out of bed thinking it was really late, then just now as I was posting on here I noticed it was only 10.15😂 I do not know what is going on this morning.
So far I've chucked some washing in the machine, that's got 30 minutes left so I'm having a coffee. Ive taken B out and we were both thankful that it was a little bit cooler than yesterday because of a lovely breeze. I've let the chickens out so they are now sunbathing in their favourite spot. My next job is to hoover downstairs then I'm free to do whatever I fancy, probably some sewing seeing as I didn't do any yesterday. I'm also tempted to do some bits in the garden but might wait until I'm on holiday, I've got one more day of work tomorrow and I don't want to cause a flare up of pain when I've got a 12 hour shift to doOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
Good idea to take it easier today. A 12 hour shift is a long old day.
Do you think you'll get the Kindle? They are definitely lighter than an iPad and smaller, plus the anti glare is do much better.

Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x2 -
Have caught up with you, all your gardening is wonderful it must be looking lovely now . I hope your pain is better now you have been resting . I am hoping that I can see my DGC next week in their garden , I will see what my DD thinks. I had a kindle but I find I prefer a proper book but I use my iPad if I go away to read books. Not long until your birthday and week off , the weather looks good for next week as well .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.1

My pain has been a lot better today, almost non existent which is a relief,I've just got to not get too carried away with doing too much all at once or it will come back. It's a fine balance because too much sitting down isn't good either 🙄
I don't think I'm going to be able to see my DGC because they are too young to understand about social distancing, it will make it easier to go and see my Mum and Dad though which is good.
I am really looking forward to my holiday and I'm hoping the weather lasts as long as possible, I don't care if it's hot so long as it's dry enough to get outside 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -

My grass is dying due to lack of rain. This happened last year too and I remember Alan Titchmarsh saying don’t bother watering it, it will come back (not to me personally by the way 🤣). And he was right - it did.
My GKs wouldn’t understand social distancing either so not sure now is the right time for a garden visit from them.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
