Work went well yesterday,😊I had to walk home though because the buses are all messed up. It was a struggle by the time I got to my road but I made it.

I now have two days off which is a relief. Today I woke up to a hot day,it's absolutely boilng here. DDs phone said the temp was 26 degrees at lunch time 🙀I'm sitting here in my shorts and a cotton sleeveless top trying to keep cool. The cat is sunbathing by the back door,B has gone to hide upstairs and the 🐓🐓are relaxing in the garden

Me and DD just went into town for some shopping. I mostly needed cleaning stuff as I have food I want to use up in the freezer.I treated myself to a face mask today and some Epsom salts.I haven't used a face mask for years so thought I would give my skin a treat and I'm trying the Epsom salts to see if they help me relax before bed. I have bathed with them before but I don't really want a bath in this weather ,so I thought a foot soak would work instead

I haven't really done anything else today,I'm just lounging around catching up on here,I found a thread called Champagne Lifestyle On A Lemonade Budget and have been reading that, it's quite a positive thread and it's cheering me up lots

I also got an email today to say I have a phone counselling appointment on Wednesday the 3rd of June ,so not a very long wait at all. I'm not sure what I want to talk about to be honest but would like some help with managing my feelings around pain and the panicky feelings I keep getting about our current situation

Good news that the counselling appointment is so near. I tend to write lists now of things I want to go through so I don't forget. When things have been difficult to talk through, I find that I am writing it down and reading it from a script and that seems to work for me.
I got given a foot spa in work last week and it has been brilliant for me to just chill out in. I usually have Epsom salts too. I don't know if they work, but use them in the hope they do. x

I was impressed that I got in so quickly,I thought I would be waiting for weeks. Lists sound like a good idea,I will give that a go.

Epsom salts are really good for your body, they relax muscles and help your body to detox, they are great in the bath but you have to be careful if you have any blood pressure issues. The first time I tried them in the bath my body felt like rubber when I got out. My muscles were so relaxed, it felt lovely.

Thanks Hairy, I'm hoping it helps. I had counselling a few years ago now but the counsellor was a man and I felt awkward talking to him so stopped going 😟

I used to be part of that thread too and found it very positive, don’t know why I stopped posting. I hope the telephone counselling is beneficial 👍 I bought a foot spa when I broke my ankle 3 years ago and had a removable cast. It was absolute bliss on my ankle.

What a lovely day it's been here today. Apart from shopping I haven't really done a lot because it was so hot I just wanted to laze around 😀. I did clean the 🐓🐓out and had a quick tidy up. After my tea I took B for a nice slow walk down along the river, it was a lot cooler with a lovely breeze.
I had a lovely cooling shower when I got back and tired out a new tanning body lotion that I bought from a friend at work. The products she sells are vegan and some of the profits go to charity, it costs a bit more than I would normally pay but it's such a nice product and I do like a safe tan 😊 I was going to use my face mask tonight but I've decided to wait until Saturday night as that is the first  day of my holiday. I thought I would have a long overdue pamper session,I haven't done that for at least a year which is ridiculous when it makes me feel so good

I've also been trying to decide if it's a good idea to buy a kindle. It's my birthday next week and I am likely to have enough Birthday money to pay for the majority of it. I do love books but I'm becoming aware of how convenient ebooks are. I cleared out a load of books last year and don't want to build up the clutter again. I read books on my iPad via the kindle app at the moment but I'm finding it a pain lugging my iPad to work when every oz of weight in my rucksack counts. I will ponder some more but if any of you have any pros and cons about kindles let me know 😀

I love my kindle - it's about five years old and the model was a couple of years old when I got it, but I use it every day for apps as well as books. As you say, a great way not to fill your house with actual books! Some of words of caution: I also have a newer Kindle which has disappeared somewhere in the house but I prefer the simpler interface of the older one (so see if you can play with different models before choosing). If you read in the bath, be aware they don't really like to be submerged. (Blushes). Kindles work well for me if I'm reading something light where I'm not likely to want to refer back to something, but for things like recipe books or 'heavier' literature, I prefer something made of paper. And lastly, while Kindle books don't take shelf space, they still form mental clutter - I took about 80 book samples off mine a few months ago!

If you’re undecided you can download the kindle app on your phone or tablet and see how you go with it. I’ve never read any of the books I’ve downloaded, I prefer a proper book. I swap with a workmate or give to the charity shop when I’ve read them.

I got a second hand kindle on ebay and it works absolutely fine. It cost £15 in total and I don't use it that much, but don't mind because I paid so little for it. x
