My journey to a debt free life

I think most of us have been the same just going from day to day in a very surreal situation. It’s hard to concentrate right now but getting into a routine would really help. I had to take co-codamol when I broke my ankle and they made me feel all floppy and relaxed, I could tell the exact moment when they kicked in.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

And the seesaw goes the other way, just been told on my work group chat that there are members of staff who have tested positive for the virus but we are not being informed if it's someone we have been on a shift with 🙀they email us if we have come into contact with a positive patient but not another staff member, I don't agree with this and think we have the right to know,I know they have a duty of confidentiality towards the staff member but they don't have to tell us who it is, we are putting ourselves at considerable risk of catching this thing and taking it home to family members so the least they can do is let us know
My DD had a complete mental meltdown today because she is petrified I am going to catch it, I did my best to reassure her that I haven't been put at any risk so far but it turns out I might have but just haven't been told.......I am due to work tomorrow and now don't want to go in ,I'm so flaming angry right now 😡Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -

I don't understand why they won't tell you, as if you've come into contact with someone who's got the virus then you should be self isolating shouldn't you? It might be best not to tell DD so that she doesn't get any more worried. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Argh, how bloomin' infuriating! Perhaps the member of staff will mention it themselves? We had two members of staff with what was probably C-19 but they weren't tested so we can't be sure. Both fully recovered now. We weren't told officially but the grapevine is pretty efficient.
I do think it would be fair to let staff know officially but you probably soon will by a process of elimination.
Part of me wishes we had full statistics - not just people who've been tested and people who have died in hospital. If we had the total numbers for C-19 infections not just the above (so deaths in the community and in care homes, ill at home and recovered, infected but never showed any symptoms) then we could at least be 'real' about it but at the moment it's still rather a faceless monster. I know we don't have the means to gather that information at the moment: hopefully that day will come though and people who have antibodies could relax a bit. (Hoping I've understood it rightly).
I do hope you find ways to help your daughter. It must be hard coping for her as well as yourself. I do wish the news would publish the numbers of recoveries: there must be many thousands who are now better but we don't get to hear much about them.
By the way - your lucky daughter to have a Mum who can help with her hair. Most of us are starting to feel we look 'interesting' and wondering how to cope with a bad hair lockdown!
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I would be angry too, then can protect the confidentiality by not saying who but at least tell staff that they have been on a shift with them or not. That does not reveal any names.
I too have been trying to get to the positives. What am I doing that I wouldn't have done before etc. Embracing in the creating and crafting. x

I have cancelled the rest of my leave this week, one to help out , but the other is because I need the routine to help me get through this. Are you sewing anything in particular ?
