My journey to a debt free life

I'm feeling bored today,I can't motivate myself to do anything so I'm just lazing on the settee
We took B out for a lovely walk earlier and DD2 popped into the shop on the way back,I sat outside with the dog because we don't like leaving her outside on her own,I was going to go in when DD came out but by the time she came out there was quite a queue so I didn't bother,I was just looking to see if they had any hand cream because my hands are sore 😟I do have some left so will try and get some on Saturday instead
Work was busy yesterday, we still haven't finished moving everything so I was doing that all afternoon, the isolation side of the ward is up and running which is good because we got our first inpatient yesterday 🙀I wasn't working on that side yesterday but the ward sister spoke to me to make sure I'm happy with what I can do, we identified a couple of areas that need brushing up on so that I am confident to look after some patients, normally I only look after surgical patients who are obviously well when they come in for an operation and because I'm a HCA I have to have a nurse overseeing me, at the moment because of staffing levels they are going to need the HCAs to take their own patients and we would just get the nurses to give any drugs because we aren't allowed to
Everyone is getting anxious now because we are all just waiting for something to happen, we have a nurse on our ward who is extremely unflappable in a crisis, she is always cool calm and collected even in an emergency but even she got upset yesterday,I think once things kick off we will just go onto autopilot but waiting for something to happen is the worst
In other news I am going to update my signature in a minute because my SC payment went out yesterday which takes me under the £15000 mark 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I still haven't done my budget for this month so must also get on and do that as well, I did get some washing done today but had no housework because I did it all on Tuesday
Im hoping for warmer weather at the weekend because I'm off and would like to do some more bits in the gardenOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
Good news about the debt milestone
. It must feel strange at work waiting for it all to kick off.

You're able to do a lot more than most people to help us get through this crisis so that must give you some satisfaction, although I know it's also a bit scary for you. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Right
I am writing today off as a bad day,I feel really sad this evening and I'm hoping I'm not going to fall into a depressive episode because that would be very unhelpful at the moment, so today has been spent not really doing anything and I think that has contributed to my low mood this evening,I've just got so much stuff going round in my head at the moment, I want to do so many things but seem paralysed by apathy today
I was supposed to be either doing some bits in the bathroom or out in the garden today but I'm soooooo tired I just couldn't muster up the energy ........this is going to stop,I've allowed myself today to wallow and that's it
Tomorrow I'm back at work,I don't know what I will be doing or where on the ward I will be but it doesn't matter because I work with a great team and we all ( mostly ) look after each other, funnily enough I don't feel low at work I feel better when I'm at work,I think I need the routine of it all and being at home with no routine and knowing I can't just pop out somewhere has really thrown me
The plan now is work tomorrow then I have Saturday and Sunday off, the weather is supposed to be good so I'm making the most of it and getting work done in the garden,my patio table and chairs need painting so I will do that on Saturday, the patio tidy is nearly finished so if I get the table and chairs done I can sit outside on Sunday and read or do some sewing,I'm hoping my wool arrives really as I think a new project is needed to distract me and I reckon socks will provide the perfect distraction
Im off to bed in a minute to read for half an hour then I'm going to sleep
Have a good day tomorrow everyone 😍Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
I hope you have a good day at work tomorrow OBL and then feel better at the weekend. It would be good if you could get your garden furniture painted so you could enjoy some time in the garden
.
I'm very similar to you in that I'm fine when I'm at work, but feel anxious, tired and listless when I'm at home. I'm going to try and make myself a timetable to follow so I have some structure when I'm at home and try and force myself to do as many of the activities as possible. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hope work was ok OBL.
I love the picture of your dog, and the chickens look so content. I remember seeing some that had come from a cage and they had no feathers on or anything. Yours are obviously enjoy the high life.
I hope that your work stays as calm and you don't have to go into auto pilot, but like you said, the fear or what is to come is sometimes worse than when you are dealing with it, as there is no time to think and you just have to get on with it as there is no other choice.
I read a thing about writing down five jobs a day and then ticking off a minimum of three. Put two small things in that are done automatically and then it inspires people to go for the third. I haven't tried it yet so not sure that it will work, but will give it a go. x
