Nicnak said:How was work today OBL? I sincerely hope this nightmare ends soon for everyone so that some sort of normality can continue. Although I do expect that people will not be the same again for a number of years to come.
It is strange how incredibly at peace I feel. x
I think your peaceful feeling is acceptance, this is beyond our control in the big scheme of things, we can only control the way we conduct ourselves, so we follow the guidelines to keep ourselves and our families safe, so long as we know we are doing everything we can to reduce our risk then I think a feeling of acceptance is the best way to be
I think I am still at the denial phase,I still can't believe this is happening but I'm having moments of calm so I think I'm getting to acceptance slowlyOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
Work was good today, we still haven't completely changed the ward around, its such a big job so it's taking time, I actually got to leave early today because it was so quiet I took a couple of hours annual leave that I had left, it was nice to walk home in the daylight for a change
I watched Panarama tonight,it was about the UK economy during lockdown and the effect it has had on the people, After watching it I realised how lucky I am to be working in the job I'm in, the people they showed were a pharmacist who's pharmacy was completely overwhelmed, there was a lady who lost her job and was struggling to get through to any of the agencies that should be helping her and people working in a supermarket who were scared because of the crowds they were being subjected to who could be infected
Working for the NHS is risky quite a lot of the time depending on what you do and it's obviously quite stressful now but we are mostly well prepared (still low levels of PPE, but also low levels of patients too) we are trained to deal with infectious diseases and emergencies and are supported while we do this, we will be paid and we will always be needed so have job security, those poor people on the telly tonight don't have any of that, everyone clapped for us on Thursday but I think they should be clapping for those essential people who are keeping everything running while this is all happeningOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8947 -
Thanks OBL. I think you are right that there is acceptance from me.
I had a feeling months ago that something was afoot and it has been there and coming and perhaps I've already dealt with it.
Glad that you got some hours, and that it hasn't hit you yet. I hope that it gets controlled soon and doesn't hit at all, but I know in all likelihood that this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
Take care and I hope you continue to have all the PPE you need. x

Thanks Nicnak,I think we are doing really well down here in the Southwest, we were the lowest line for cases on the medical officers graph,we have had 19 adults in the hospital plus 2 children so far with 3 deaths 😟 London is the hotspot at the moment, the Midlands is worrying me because cases are rising there quite fast, my sister lives in Derby so it's a bit too close for comfort, we don't speak because we fell out but I wouldn't want anything to happen to her
Its definitely going to get worse before it gets better, my trust says we are expecting the peak in about 2 weeks, I think it's going to go on for a while because they don't make the kind of changes to a hospital that we have been doing for something that is only going to last a few weeks,I just hope when happens that everyone is ok
