There was a report on FB yesterday that someone in a motor home  from Birmigham was turned back at the Devon Border. What dont people get in the statement STAY HOME?

I don't know if anyone read the article in the Mail yesterday, it was a fictitious scenario but it's made me feel like staying at home and not leaving the house until all this is over and everything has been deep cleaned. It was so frightening, scared me to death.  Although I do realise the media like to sensationalise, we have to be aware of the consequences of ignoring what we're being asked to do.

Escaping to a rural 2nd home is an advantage only available to the wealthy. It has ever been thus. Right back to the Black Death in the 14th century..... (big topic of study at Uni), the aristocracy fled to their rural estates & everyone else stayed put because of course they didn't have a 2nd home, so had no choice. There are always more choices available to the most affluent. The problem is that small picturesque places full of 2nd homes (which prices out the locals for a start, esp the young) don't have the infrastructure to deal with any related surge in pandemic spread. I don't live in a holiday area but I do live in an old historic small market town. Our health services would be utterly overwhelmed with an influx of second-homers at such a critical time.
Take care, OBL. I'm glad you have your chickens. Our milk delivery service emailed yesterday to say 'No new egg customers' as there is a national egg shortage.

So true Foxgloves,I watched a news piece over a week ago about a village in Derbyshire who sealed themselves off so that no one else would get the the plague, I think it was called Eyam but I can't remember,I had never heard this story before and I couldn't stop thinking about the people for days after I saw it on the news, what a brave heroic thing to do, everyone could learn a lot from those people at the moment

I didn't realise there was an egg shortage 🙀Mr S did have quite a good stock yesterday but there were gaps in the shelves,I was actually thinking about putting a padlock on my chicken run now because there's been a spate of thefts from garden sheds in my area and I imagine a couple of chickens might look quite attractive to some people at the moment 😟

Good, maybe that's why there weren't any police in town yesterday, they were all busy trying to stop holiday makers from invading Devon for the Easter holidays

I didn't see that SA, the thing is we are all learning that life can change at the drop of a hat,who thought that this year we would all be hiding in our houses under order of our government to stop us catching a deadly disease, at this point in time  I wouldn't rule out anything 😟

Had a strange night last night, I went to bed feeling shattered and fell asleep almost straight away,I've been having trouble sleeping for ages on and off but last night was ok,anyway I woke up at 4am feeling deliriously happy,I don't know why I was feeling happy but it was nice and much better than lying awake worrying which is what normally happens,I just had this feeling of overwhelming happiness and wellbeing 😀
I also remembered to change the clocks which was very efficient for me because I do tend to forget
Today I'm at home ( surprise 😂) and I've got a few jobs done already,DD was already out with B when I got up so I didn't have to do that, I had a nice relaxing breakfast before cleaning the kitchen,we were lazy last night and just left it in a mess, I've done a load of washing and that's on the line because it's really windy here today,I've cleaned out the 🐓🐓 and in a bit I'm going to clean the bathroom

I also have some veg to roast for our tea so will do that later, I still haven't done this weeks ironing so that is lurking in the spare room waiting for me 🙀

i had a look at my sock knitting book last night so might even make a start on some socks today, mind you she did put me off a bit because I bought self patterning wool and she was talking about finding the pattern repeat if you want your socks to match,I hadn't thought about having to do this so might have to have odd socks 😂

I have this weird sense of calmness about me at the minute as well. I can't explain it. I usually get it when something is stirring underneath the surface, but I can't figure out if it is virus connected, or me connected. I can feel it right now.
Very productive day for you. I did tackle my ironing pile. It was touching the ceiling (it sits on top of the fridge). x
How strange Nicnak, I didn't get my ironing done in the end so will save it for another day 😀
