I started with a cough, tight chest and feeling rough last Friday. Now all gone as from today. It does make you wonder though ...

Morning OBL. Hope the chest is ok.
The weather has been lovely and enabling everyone to at least get some light. I can imagine isolation in winter to be a lot worse than this.
I have heard that they're not really testing anyone unless they are showing lots of symptoms.

I’m gutted because I had a trial run of lockdown for 7 weeks earlier this year with a broken leg. Back at work for just 4 weeks and now this 😱 Hope you’re ok xx

Such bad timing SA, I'm still coughing and wheezy but not enough to stop me doing anything, it's annoying more than anything 🙄

Hi Nicnak,I'm still coughing and wheezing but haven't needed my inhaler so it's not as bad as it was earlier in the week, they are only testing people admitted to hospital now

I suppose if you are isolated in winter and the weather is bad you at least don't feel like you are missing out, I'm lucky to have a garden but I feel for those who don't

Work was ok yesterday, we are decluttering the ward so there are less things around to be contaminated, there's lots of meetings going on all over the place and things change every day sometimes every hour🙀

At yesterdays safety briefing we were told that we are now not to wear our uniforms in to work, previously we were allowed to wear them in but not home, they have changed it partly because of the infection risk and because there have been a few healthcare staff who have been approached. and had their ID badges taken off them, we have been told to carry our badges in case we get stopped by the police but we have to keep them hidden in a pocket, we need to make sure we can produce them though because a few healthcare workers have been given on the spot fines for being out and they didn't have their badges to prove they were going to work

I walked home from work last night and it felt really weird because there are normally people on the street so it feels safe,I didn't feel safe last night because it's still dark and there was no one around, I'm thinking I might wait for the lighter nights before I walk the whole route home because I walk through a couple of secluded areas which are fine in the day time or if there are lots of people around but not so good on your own in the dark, it's weird because I've never felt like that before, I think it was just the lack of people around and everything being shut

Today I have plans to take B out for her walk,I have to get the mini trampoline out the loft for my Son in law to collect from the front garden after lunch,I've got washing to do and I'm going to make a start on tidying up my patio before the good weather disappears,I might make a banana bread and I have to make my leek croustade for tea

Its lovely and sunny again here today but a bit cooler than it was earlier in the week so I had better make the most of it 😊

Morning OBL.  We've been given a key worker letter to show to the police if they stop us, having said that most of us are working from home now, it's only the helpline staff who still have to go in.

Have a good day, enjoy the sunshine 😁

  • Glad work was okay yesterday OBL 🙂. The de-cluttering sounds like a good idea. Presumably you're not working with corona patients as you work on a paediatric ward.

I hope I don't get stopped by the police going to school 😱. I could show them my lanyard I suppose to prove that I work in a school, or perhaps school will give me a letter to show that I'm a key worker. I'll find out on Monday I guess when I next go in.

Have a lovely day off :).

I think the lanyard should be ok. I have mine with me Hairy, but do have a letter. I just don't have it printed off yet! I didn't get chance to.
I don't know anyone from my work that has been stopped, but I am sure it will start to happen more and more.
Hope you're still ok OBL. It's a scary time for NHS workers and my hat goes off to you all. Take care x

I just had a staff newsletter from school and they said wear lanyards when travelling to school in case the police stop you  and there's an ID letter in office we can pick up, so I should be safe from arrest 🤣 .

I hope you feel safe at work OBL. Do you feel you have the equipment you need, etc, ?
