The nap was obviously needed. Glad the chickens were ok. I am sure they would just put themselves back home when they wanted to, or were a bit cold or hungry.

They do take themselves off to bed but we have several resident foxes so I always worry if the door to the run is left open, foxes are more likely to strike in the evening, mind you the only time I've seen one out there was in the day time

Ah ok, I can understand the worry then. Bless them. I have a rabbit who also puts himself to bed. x

Another day done at work and I wasn't working where I thought I would be,I was supposed to be in an orthopaedic clinic but was moved to paediatric outpatients instead because the lady who was there ( my bestest friend ) doesn't do bloods
I was actually quite pleased and relieved about this because I woke up this morning feeling very low and I didn't fancy the ortho clinic as it's very busy very fast and quite stressful,I normally enjoy it but was feeling a bit fragile,I'm not sure why I woke up feeling this way today but there is no rhyme or reason to it so I thought I would just go with it and see how the day panned out, anyway I got to go and work with my friend who I haven't seen since before Christmas and it was quiet so we had chance to have a nice chat and catch up as well,I felt much better later in the day thank god

My friend had also brought me a nice surprise in,she went to Vegas just before Christmas and I was telling her that when I went to the USA I got seriously addicted to Twinkies, you can get them in the uk but they are really expensive due to being imported so I won't buy them,I'm also not actually sure if they are vegetarian either, anyway she found a packet ( they come in packs of two ) and she brought them back for me all the way from Vegas :rotfl: I had them for my pudding at lunch time and they were as yummy as I remembered :D

I'm off tomorrow and have grand plans to clean my oven,I also need some corn for the chickens and some bits of shopping for me, so I'm going to coat the oven in bicarb and vinegar then while that's (hopefully) dissolving the muck in the oven I'm going to nip out and get my shopping, then I can clean it when I get back

I'm also making something with my vegan mince that I still haven't used yet,I was supposed to doing either a spag Bol or cottage pie at the beginning of the week but never got round to it,I still can't decide which one I fancy but I'm thinking the spag Bol would be easier and I've definitely got the bits to make that

This evening I have been watching sock knitting tutorials on YouTube,I'm going to just practice casting on and knitting on my double pointed needles before I have a go at an actual sock,I've got lots odd spare balls of wool so can use some of that,I also checked out the Winwick mum who someone recommended to me and her sock along tutorial looks easy enough to follow,I keep asking my DD1 to show me but she has been too busy so I thought I would try and have a go myself,I'm not going to knit a proper sock until I've finished my cross stitch that I'm doing

I have also been thinking about new year goals and that last paragraph has given me an idea,I don't set resolutions anymore but last year I picked a word of the year and tried to live with that word in mind, last years word was Enough and I interpreted it in the following ways
    I have enough material belongings
I am enough as a person
I give enough to my family and friends
I give enough to my job
It was about learning when enough is enough and also when to acknowledge that you have enough to live a happy life

I haven't been able to think of a word for this year but I think I will pick the word Finish, I've picked this word because I'm great at starting things but I'm terrible at finishing them, so any crafts I'm doing will be finished before I start something new, I will also focus on finishing my bathroom decorating that's been going on for about 5 years now before I start anything else in the house,I can probably apply it to other things as well but need time to think about them

Hmmm got a bit distracted this morning and decided to hoover up before I did anything else, going in and out of my house involves walking through lots of leaves and even though I have a mat outside and inside the door bits of leaf get brought in,it's the dog more than us because we take our shoes off but the front door,I usually just dust pan job if it's just a few bits but today I thought it would actually be quicker to hoover

I also coated my oven in bicarb and vinegar and have now left it to soak in,it seems to be working really well on the door but I'm not sure about the actual oven, it's only the bottom of the oven because the sides are self cleaning ,if this doesn't work I have some oven cleaner in the cupboard so will have to use that

I've also done a load of washing which will have to go on the airer because it's just started to chuck it down with rain, one minute it was lovely and sunny and the next it was raining,I was lucky it didn't happen when I took the dog out because I didn't take my brolly

Ive still got to go shopping but was waiting for the washing to finish,I'm just having lunch then I will nip out

OBL, I don't know if this is helpful, but a while ago, I bought a couple of sort of oven liners from A*di. We'd had similar from Betterw*re or L*keland in the past, I can't remember which. Anyway, it's just a cut to fit non-stick mat/liner which goes on the bottom of the oven. Any burned bits, sticky bits, overflows, general oven gunk just peels off. I think they are supposed to be single use, but we find that as everything all lifts straight off them at oven cleaning time, we can pop them back in for further use.

Thanks Foxgloves,I've actually got some of these that I had forgotten about, my mum bought them in Lakeland's and I put them away thinking I would clean the oven then use them and promptly forgot all about them, I'm going to put one in the oven as soon as I find them,I think they are on top of the cupboard where my oven is housed :D I sure it said on the box that they were wipeable

Well I have to say I'm quite impressed with how clean my oven has come up using just bicarb and vinegar, the door looks like a new one,I keep going in the kitchen to look at it :rotfl:
The oven itself has also come up really well but there are some bits I can't get off,I'm hoping if I keep on with it it will come off eventually, when I got this oven I promised myself I would keep it spotlessly clean and I think that lasted about a year before I started to get neglectful, so I'm going to try to keep on top of it now then I won't have a massive job on my hands like today

I've also made my bolognese but don't want to eat it now I've cooked it :( DD2 came home and said she would treat us both to pizza for tea so I'm going to have that,I will take some bolognese to work for lunch tomorrow then the others can go in the freezer for meals next week,I'm also going to buy some quorn peices next week so I can make a curry

I popped out to the local shops to get chicken corn and some bits of shopping for me this afternoon,I found a mini Christmas pud in the cupboard so I bought some custard so I can eat it later :j I've also cleaned the chickens out and topped up their food and water,I'm working tomorrow so I don't have time to do it in the morning,it's pitch black up on the garden where they are so I don't like going up there before work,it's too creepy with the woods behind as well and I'm scared of the dark :rotfl:
I'm just now having a cup of tea before i take the dog out then I'm doing some sewing

I love your word about finishing. I hadn't even thought about doing something like that at New Year. I'm off to think of a word for me.

I am the same with ovens. Clean it, promise myself I will wipe it down, forget, have to do a huge clean!

Glad you are feeling better last night when you started the day. x

Off today and went to meet my mum for lunch, she had a nice time at my sisters for Christmas so that's a relief, there are quite often rows when my family spends any time together because of my Dads attitude and behaviour, apparently he annoyed my sister several times but she managed not to fall out with him about it

I'm now at home contemplating taking the dog out for her evening walk, I am absolutely shattered today and actually fell asleep on the bus home earlier:eek: I'm going to try not going to bed too late tonight because I have work tomorrow so need to get up at 6am :(

The good news of the day is one of my chickens laid an egg this morning, I got very excited when I saw it because I haven't had any eggs for weeks now
