My journey to a debt free life

Got up early today and took the dog along the river so I could get pet supplies from the local shopping centre, we got the bus back because the chicken food is too heavy to walk home with
I had a cup of tea and some Christmas cake then got cracking with my jobs, the chickens are out in the garden so I've cleaned them out,and I've blitzed my bedroom,I'm just having a tea break before I go and put my clean bedding on the bed,I also cleaned the dolls house today because that was really dusty,DD2 bought me some bits for it for Christmas so I put them in place, she got me a display cabinet for the living room, a teapot in the shape of a cottage that I've put on the kitchen table,a dinner set which has gone on the dresser in the kitchen,I had to stick it in place with white tac so it wouldn't keep falling off and a mini dolls house for one of the bedrooms, the door on the dolls house actually opens and it has little rooms😀
I haven't done anything else in the house because it's taken me all afternoon to sort out my bedroom, it looks lovely now though
I'm going to do some sewing when I finish in a bitOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
That sounds like a nice day, OBL. We had a lovely dolls house when we were little. My Grandad made it for my Mum for Christmas when she was about 3 or 4. It was quite big, modelled on a classic 1930s town house. He made all the furniture, even a piano & little leather upholstered sofa, & Nan cut up one of her old dresses to sew curtains & bedding. As we grew out of it in the 1970s, it was given to a family of younger children on our street. With hindsight, I wish we'd kept it, as Grandad was a fine craftsman & I expect it eventually ended up at the tip.
The miniature bits & bobs are very appealing, aren't they?

Your dolls house sounds lovely. There are a lot of beautiful crafted things out there. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

I bet the dolls' house looks great - how thoughtful of your DD!
My sister found some dolls' house furniture in with things from Mum's estate and sent me a photo, as a result of which I will get my dolls' house grand piano back, and little red wooden chair. I'd forgotten them both but of course recognised them at once. I don't care that they aren't the same scale.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

OBL I am glad you are feeling slightly better and are able to eat more again. My DGD is always looking at dolls houses , she loves playing with them.
I went to a NT property last year in the North East , can't remember which one but they had a brilliant collection of dolls houses they were amazing.
Hope you continue to improve .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -

Awww what a shame you haven't still got it,I looked up the make of dolls house I had as a child and you can still get them but they are expensive if they have been renovated,I would love to get my hands on one but at the moment I can't remember what it was called, it's in my diary here somewhere though
I love anything miniature,I also have a thing for model railways and would have loved one when I was young,my eldest grandson seems to interested in trains so I'm hoping I will get to play with some via him:rotfl: I keep threatening to build a model village in my garden :rotfl:Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942 -

It's a work in progress,I was so lucky to get it for Christmas a few years ago,I have always wanted one as an adult, this one is a Georgian townhouse called The Beeches if you want to google itit's got 8 rooms and I love it,I've done it up in a modern style using ideas from real house magazines

It was very thoughtful of her,she always tries to get me a few bits for it for Christmas as I don't tend to buy too much for it because it's expensive,I'm making the bedding and curtains myself but furniture is beyond me,I buy the cheap bare wood furniture though and then just paint it with chalk paint
Didn't you get a dolls house a while back ?Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

I wanted to go to The Museum Of Childhood in London a few years ago because they had a big dolls house collection there,I'm not sure if it was a permanent exhibition thoughOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Work is now done again for two days, it was another nice steady day with no dramas so that was good,I got loads of post Christmas tidying jobs done that we don't get time to do during a normal shift because we are too busy, the nurse in charge let me go home half an hour early because she said I hadn't stopped all day :j
Tomorrow I am at home all day and apart from taking the dog out I'm not going anywhere,I have a list of jobs to do so will be busy all day
First thing is to take all the Christmas decorations down and put them back in the loft, then I can give the living room a good clean,I don't want to take my decorations down yet as even though they have been up since the end of November it doesn't seem like that long ago, my tree looks so pretty with the lights on:(
I've got DDs bedding to wash although I don't class that as work because it's in the machine so I'm not actually doing anything,I have to say I'm doing really well with getting things dry, at the moment it's easy because the heating is on, if I hang a duvet cover over the stairs it's dry by the morning so can be folded and put straight in the airing cupboard,I think it helps that I have the spare room so I can put my clothes airers in there and they are not in the way or on view, I don't miss my tumble dryer at all, I used to tell people I couldn't live without my tumble drier but it's amazing what you can get used to if you put your mind to it:D
The bathroom is also on my hit list for tomorrow so that will be getting scrubbed too
Last night in bed I sat and looked through the gardening magazine my mum passes onto me and it's made me want to get outside and start tidying the garden up a bit,I might do that on Thursday if the weather is ok, it's meant to be mild here this week so we will see
Of course I also need to fit in some sewing time at some point tomorrow tooOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941
