What lovely weather we had today,I took the dog out this morning and it was cold and crisp but also sunny, it would have been the perfect day to go for a long walk except I'm not very well and DD1 was coming round with the grandchildren for the day

I left work a couple of hours early yesterday because I was aching so much and felt like I might be getting a cold, I was in bed by 8.30 and slept on and off all night, this morning I woke up with a sore throat and felt yucky,my mouth and lips are also burning for some reason,I'm back at work tomorrow but only on a late so don't have to get up until 9.30,I'm hoping it won't get worse tomorrow because working with a cold is horrible and I want to go shopping on Thursday

I haven't done much today just sat around and chatted and played with DGS,I didn't have any tea because I wasn't hungry,I just had a toasted tea cake in the end

I've done my banking and updated my signature today and I've shifted some money around from the Xmas savings fund to my current account so I can use it on Thursday,I also got a delivery of some presents for DD2 today and have somehow managed to order two copies of the book she wanted,I'm not sure how that happened and I'm annoyed because I will have to send it back now ,I've nearly got all her presents now,she wanted some art supplies so I just have to get her some water colour paper now

I'm doing really well with my sewing and so it will hopefully be ready in time for Christmas,I'm going to do some in a minute when I've finished updating my diary and I'm hoping it will help take my mind off my sore throat
I am consoling myself with the fact that I've got this cold now and not at Christmas

The weather has been really cold and sunny here , nice for long walks all wrapped up. How do the chickens go on in the cold ?

  • Sorry you don't feel well OBL. You're right that it's better to have it now than at Christmas! I hope your day off has helped you to feel a bit better.

I'm over using the dryer and I know it. I really need to stop to be honest, but need to get little ones clothes dry for school. I will need to slow it down though and rely on the clothes horse. x

I don't have a drier anymore,we got rid of it back in the summer when it broke, to be honest I only used it for bedding and towels, most of mine and DD2s clothes can't be tumble dried anyway, I decided to see how I get on without it through the winter and if it's too much of a pain I will invest in another one,so far it's going ok even with all the rain we have had

Thanks Sunshine Girl, weirdly I feel perfectly ok this evening, yesterday I thought I was brewing a nasty cold but nothing today

I'm sewing an embroidery picture for a close friend,I'm hoping to give it to her for Christmas but if I don't finish it I will save it for her birthday in June

My chickens do alright in the cold, chickens have lovely down under their feathers so sort of like a built in duvet,I you pick one up in the winter and put your hand underneath their wing it's lovely and warm

I walked part of the way home tonight and it was a lovely cold crisp evening,I prefer to walk at least some of the way home as it helps me to wind down after work

Weirdly I'm ok again now,I did take three doses of echinacea yesterday so that might have helped and I told myself I didn't have time to get a cold :rotfl:

Thanks Cherry,I'm feeling ok today, it's as if there was nothing wrong, my lips and mouth are still sore but my lips are chapped so that explains that,I put some lip balm on them so might have had some irritation from that
