My journey to a debt free life

Yuck yuck and more yuck, the weather has been awful here this afternoon, just relentless rain and black skies
I did go and do my shopping though and I took the stuff to the charity shop so I still got my jobs done, my shopping was a bit more than I would like because the shop is a co op, mind you it's probably roughly the same as Sainsbury's
I have also just sorted through lots of my embroidery supplies,I have so much thread left over from different projects, I've had a right clear out, there was a folder full of charts that I collected years ago, none of them were relevant to me now so they have all gone in the recycling,I did find three Christmas decoration kits that I got free years ago, they are only little so I'm going to sew them up over the next few days I think
I don't have quite enough thread to stitch the picture for my friend but looking at it I've got enough to do quite a bit of it,I'm just Ummimg and ahhing now because I don't know if I will finish it in time for Christmas, I suppose if I don't finish it she could have it for her birthday in June instead, actually that's made my mind up and I'm going to order it this evening, it's not a complicated design so if I don't mess about I could do it by Christmas
Poor DD2 came home from uni with a really bad headache, she does get migraines but she thinks she is getting a cold, she felt dizzy when she got off the train and nearly fell off the platform:eek: so it could be a sinus headache, she has gone to bed to see if it will go away
Im just sitting here now trying to decide whether to take the dog out know before my tea or after as it might stop raining then
I've got a lovely bolognese that I made earlier in the week for tea tonight,I always make enough for four and then freeze the other portions so I don't have to cook for four days and this bolognese just get tastier and tastier the longer it's left,I'm really looking forward to it
I'm taking rolls to work tomorrow instead of hot food because I have a meeting which is taking place over my lunch break so i won't be able to heat anything up,I bought curry sauce today because I have quorn pieces in the freezer,if I cook that on Saturday it will last me until Tuesday which is perfect because I get paid on Wednesday so can go shopping on Thursday,I also have some bits in the freezer to use up so won't need food shopping apart from bread and milk until payday :jOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Oooh, Quorn pieces, OBL. Thanks for reminding me about those. Mr F used to make a really nice curry with them, which definitely needs to go back on the menu. I think I'll remind him about the recipe.

Sounds like you got the weather we had last Thursday, torrential rain all day
It's been dry and sunny all week but today was very dark and gloomy

I hate rain too. I drove in your direction today and I couldn't believe the flooding in the fields. We drove through heavy rain, light rain and mist! Luckily it was only spotting at our destination. The forcast says more rain until Wednesday for the westcountry. Hopefully it will stop after that.
I hope you have a good weekend despite the rain.

Day off today and it's still raining 😟 I took the dog out this morning and after tea but haven't been out all day,we didn't go to the garden centre because it was too wet again, we are now going to wait until DD2 finishes uni for Christmas at the end of November
I have spent the day reading my book,I've now caught up with all the Rivers Of London books and am now on the newest one to come out in paper back, there is another me coming out now in hardback but I will have to wait until it comes out in paperback to buy that one, the one I'm reading now is really good so far.
I also started making one of the Christmas decoration kits I found in my craft stash,I'm getting the decorations down tomorrow so we can see what we need to make,I have paper chains hanging on the walls that are normally made from strips of wrapping paper,a couple of years ago I found some really pretty paper chain kits in the pound shop so I bought them, we have used them a few times,I staple them together and then take them apart after Christmas,I need to check they are still usable for this year but if not I've bought some wrapping paper that is suitable to be cut up and made into loops for paper chains, so I might be making paper chains tomorrow:j
We really want to make some really cute reusable ones out of felt, they will possibly be embroidered too but my living room is big so this would be quite labour intensive and possibly costly, once made however they will last forever so I'm very tempted,I think if I'm going to do them though I will have to start in January to get them finished in time for next year :rotfl:
I also cooked my curry today but I don't have four portions because DD2 smelled it and said it smelled so good she wished she had some so I gave her some for tea,we normally cook our own food because she is mostly vegan and eats totally different things to me,the curry wasn't vegan because it had milk in it but she made an exception :rotfl: I now have some for tomorrow and Monday ,I'm going to DD1s on Tuesday so will grab a bag of yummy chips to eat on the way home on the bus and I have food in the freezer for Wednesday
Wednesday is payday so I can stock up my food supplies then and also add some more money to the Christmas fund. I'm starting my Christmas shopping on Thursday and if I plan it right I could be finished in a couple of weeks:eek: I'm going to be making lists and sticking to them so I'm organised and in control.
Our Christmas market has opened as well so we will have to go and pay a visit to that soon,I do like going to Christmas markets and ours is now situated on the Green right in front of our gorgeous cathedral, it's all lit up and really gets me in the Christmas spiritOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
I've been to your Christmas market before and it is good.
It sounds like you had a nice relaxing day reading which is a good thing to do on a rainy day. That's what I've got scheduled for tomorrow.

I've just been looking at some photos and one of the roads that I think leads into Broadclyst is completely flooded
I took the dog up the lane at the top of my road this morning and the water running down there was unbelievable,I've never seen it like that before I hope it stops soon :eek:Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
