  • It's really good to have you back OBL :).

I'm sorry you've been feeling depressed again. I think this awful rainy weather and dark evenings don't help. I've been feeling quite down lately and I'm sure it's got a lot to do with the weather.

I like looking at Christmas stuff too :). Perhaps you can go the garden centre tomorrow? Our weather is going to be better tomorrow.

Thanks Hairy, the dark and rain is not helping at all, we might go tomorrow if the weather is good, it's just a bit more of a pain to get there on a Sunday because the buses aren't as regular

I cheered myself up by buying a book on my kindle app about a couple who relocate from Brisbane to Tasmania to live on a small holding and return to a simpler way of life,Its really good,I've been reading it all evening

  • So we had to brave the weather earlier to take the dog out, it's like a monsoon out there and it was not a pleasant experience,my poor dog ( who is thankfully looking a lot more nimble thank god) really does not like going for a walk in the rain

Talking of the dog I got the vet bill in the post today ,it's £171.50 left to pay so I will be paying that next week,I also need to order some more meds for her but they are cheaper than I thought so that's good news, she has a 32mg bottle and that ones £23 but she is only on one small dose a day so it lasts quite a while
I'm going to start saving for her vets bills because the insurance company I'm with won't pay out as they are saying it's a pre existing condition,it isn't but I haven't got the mental strength to argue with them,I'm not sure what to do about the insurance because if I cancel it and she gets ill with something else I would be able to claim, it it galls me to pay out when it's possibly a waste of time

Good to have you posting again, OBL. I bought 'As I walked out one midsummer morning' on Kindle recently, it's very readable. I hope you enjoy your book too. If you are into Aussie things, I bought 'The Barefoot Investor' while I was there and it's worth a read for Martin Lewis fans - though wait till the price goes down, it's about £12 now.

I hope you get your trip out. The weather has improved up here so maybe it will spread to you too.

  • I've had a busy day today,we planned to go to the garden centre today but I changed my mind this morning, the main reason was that I was awake most of the night so didn't want to get up early to get the bus,I had an extra hour in bed instead 😀 I've got a Saturday off in a couple of weeks where we can both go so will do it then when it won't be such a pain to get there

The weather has also been lovely today so I took the opportunity to give the chicken run a good clean, I've now given them an extra deep sawdust bed to snuggle up in because it's getting chilly, my hens don't roost on perches they make a nest and snuggle next to each other in the sawdust 🙄so I like to make sure it's nice and deep when the weather gets colder,I've also replaced the sawdust on the run floor with the leaves I raked up from the back garden today, they will dig in these and break them down and then I put them in my compost bin

Eric the hamster also had a good clean out too so that's all the small pets sorted, the dogs been for a walk so everyone's happy :T

I also baked a tea loaf this morning mainly because I bought a big bag of sultanas a couple of weeks ago to have as a snack but its taking me a while to get through them so tea loaf sounded like a good idea,I've been buying nuts in an attempt to get more protein into my diet but I keep forgetting to eat them,so I've dug out a little lidded pot to put a mixture of nuts and sultanas in to take to work as a snack, hopefully this will stop me eating biscuits all day

I'm just sitting down with a cup of tea before I get the hoover out,I seem to have more energy and motivation today so I'm making the most of it

I always have a little pot of nuts & raisins in my bag, OBL. They do come in useful as a snack. Good to hear the chickens are warm in their new sawdust. I had an extra hour in bed too this morning. Lovely to read another chunk of my book in the warm. Simple pleasures!

  • Today has been very productive I must say,I know it sounds mad but cleaning puts me in a good frame of mind,I like ticking jobs off my to do list
The house is all done now so I can go off to work tomorrow and won't have anything to do when I get home😀

  • I don't like the actual cleaning, but I like looking at the result and thinking wow, that looks good.

I have a comforter on my bed and it keeps my feet so lovely and warm. It is making it difficult for me to get out of bed too. I was 10 mins late this morning, which ended up with me running round like an idiot.
