Thank you for the update, I'm sorry you're going through a bad time. Take your time and post when you are ready: the important thing is to try to take care of yourself and get help if you need to. Sending hugs xI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Awww, sorry to hear you are feeling low, OBL. I'm sending my best wishes that you pick up soon, & cat is sending a purr.....it's a bit of a grubby one, as he's been outside rolling around in the bark chips, but he is very good at cheer-up cuddles.

Hi Hairy, I've just popped in to check something out on my diary to find all these lovely replies, feeling a bit tearful now🙄and thankful that such lovely people read my diary😍😍
I'm gradually starting to feel a bit more human again so life will hopefully get back to normal soon,I'm working through some stuff about why I feel like this by journaling,I've seen a counsellor in the past but it didn't really help, I think this episode is mainly down to the menopause and it's associated symptoms so I've been reading and researching ways to manage it over the last few days, just doing that has helped me to feel more positive
I can't take HRT so I'm trying a herbal supplement at the moment and I think that's helping, you can only take it for a maximum of 6 months though so I will have to think again thenOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Thankyou for the lovely replies everyone, I didn't think anyone would really miss me that much, I am feeling a bit less paralysed by apathy now so hopefully I am getting better
I have depressive episodes every so often but I think the last few weeks have been the worst I've felt in a long time, luckily ( or not depending on your viewpoint) I can still function enough to work and get by in everyday life when I feel like this but being chatty and social tends to fall by the wayside,I just want to curl up under my duvet and not interact with anyone, after a while though I try to make myself get back to normal
I'm positive that this latest episode has been made worse by the menopause and my raging hormones, being a book fiend I've read a good book and done lots of research online and I'm now feeling a bit more in control of things
I'm taking a supplement (Black Cohosh) to help with my immediate symptoms and it appears to be helping, this herb however can't be taken for too long because of it's possible side effects so I'm trying to find an alternative ,any ideas will be gratefully received
I can't take HRT so have ruled that out and I'm not really sure I would want to if I could,I've just come here today to look through my diary to see if I can find the post where I last mentioned a period so I can work out how long it's been now
I will be back soon xxOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Of course we missed you
. It's lovely to hear from you and I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now.
My menopause lasted six years but luckily I don't think I suffered from mood swings (although there was so much going on in my life then it's hard to work out what was causing me to feel depressed!). You will come out of the other side menopausewise, but it is unpleasant while it lasts. I mainly had the most awful hot flushes where I felt like my blood was boiling and my face would go bright red
.
I chose not to go the HRT route as I was worried about an increased cancer risk, but it's only a small risk and I know many take it and are fine. Do you think yoga or meditation or anything like that would help? I expect you've though of that already.
Anyway I hope you feel your normal lovely self soon. Let us know if we can do anything to help :grouphug:.
