Well done OBL on getting through the year without using your credit card and not having any overdraft - it’s such a great feeling isn’t it ? Being free from overspending gives such a lift more than a spending spree ever could - probably because there is no following guilt and we’ve been strong enough to overcome the urge to spend .0

Congratulations on a year! That's fantastic - and it sounds as though you've really made the changes to your lifestyle that will hep you sustain it permanently.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That is inspiring. I need to not go into my overdraft. I am good at not using my credit card, but not good with my overdraft at all. I need to try to be a lot more determined. xxSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.

Hi everyone just popped in for a catch up,I've had a busy few days with one thing or another
It's my day off today so I'm aiming to stay at home all day,I'm not feeling very well so need to try and recover, my back has been hurting for a few days but then spread into full on pelvic pain, I can't decide if I've just hurt my back,it's the Fibro or I have some sort of bug going on, I felt sick all day on Tuesday and spent the evening on the settee with a heat pad on my tummy,I had to take pain killers to be able to go to sleep
I went to work yesterday and did my afternoon clinic but then came home again when it finished
I've got to phone them this afternoon to let them know about tomorrow as I'm meant to be on a long day,we are short staffed at the moment so if I don't go in I'm not sure they will be able to cover my clinic,of course my joints are all getting in on the act today and are aching now as well
I'm really annoyed because I havent been off sick for a year in May and I was hoping to make it to then and not be ill :mad:Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

Thanks, it is a lovely feeling,I actively dislike going shopping now unless it's for something I can't avoid buying, such a change in attitude for me :jOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

I spent so long living totally in my OD,my wages would literally be paid in to pay it off then I would be back in it again, itwas one of the worst aspects of being in debt because I was stuck with that bank and a fee paying account
When I opened my new account it came with a large OD facility and I refused it,I think I allowed a £100 limit just for extreme emergencies but after a few months I cut that down to £50 and it's stayed at that amount since ,I've never used it and would like to get rid of it but I'm too scared I will forget a bill and go over,I must look at it again because I obviously don't need it if I haven't used it in a yearOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941
