Phew just stopped for a coffee break,I'm ploughing through my jobs today, the sun is shining but I decided to crack on with the house work anyway, I've done my room, polished the living room and hooverd everywhere, the kitchen has had a good clean as well
I had an unscheduled trip into town because DD wants to use up a butternut squash she bought so we decided to do the Gnocchi bake we like but we didn't have all the ingredients,so it was off to the shops for me
I'm just having this coffee then I'm going to go and make it before I do the chickens and take the dog out
I still don't know if I can have Wednesday afternoon off yet because the matron I emailed isn't back until tomorrow,I phoned work and the other matron was there but she wouldn't make the decision and has told me to phone back tomorrow:mad
I'm going to presume the answer is no then if they say yes it will be a bonus :rotfl:Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

You have been busy, OBL. The butternut squash gnocchi dish sounds lovely. I love butternut squash. I tried growing them for a couple of years, but on both occasions, I only got one plant to fruit & although the squashes were both a good size & flavour, it seemed a lot of effort, so I've swapped to growing other squashes now & buy butternuts. Mr f makes a fab roasted butternut macaroni cheese, which is a Waitrose recipe from the free paper they do at weekends. It feeds us for two nights & we never mind having it twice running, as it's so nice.
Anyway, am just on my coffee break & thought I'd pop in & say hello to a few diary people.

Is Eric settling well into his new home?
Eric has settled into his new home and is turning into a right little fatty,I am still handling him with gloves on because he savages my hand at every available moment,I did manage to stroke his back the other day with my bare finger and he didn't jump a mile so definitely an improvement,I don't think he is ever going to be a cuddly pet thoughOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

We never tried butternut squash when we had our allotment but we did grow patty pan which I thought looked a bit unappetising but actually loved eating ,the macaroni cheese sounds nice,I do like a good macaroni cheese:)Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Hi everyone, I've been missing for a few days due to being busy and reading lots
I managed to get my Wednesday off in the end and I spent it out in my front garden having a good tidy up,I was out here for most of the day and it was so lovely to be outside in the sun
On Thursday we went to the Swedish store to buy the other bits for DDs notice board and it looks really good now,I wanted a bin for the kitchen but somehow managed to miss them and couldn't be bothered to go back and look
We took the dog on a lovely walk through the fields when we got back,we can't go through there in the winter because it's just too muddy but it's dried out mostly now so we changed it and it was really nice
I've been listening to a new podcast called The Slow Home Podcast and this in turn has led me to a new blog called Down To Earth by Rhonda Hetzel it's about living simply and it's a really nice read, Rhonda lives in Australia but everything she does translates to here, you just have to adjust for the different seasons,it's definitely worth a read if your into home making, growing your own, cooking from scratch, baking bread, sewing and knitting
I've been at work today so have been busy all day but I'm now off again for the weekend,I could really get used to just working two long days a week, sadly it's not possible at the moment but I can dream
Tomorrow if the weather isn't terrible we are taking the dog to the beach, we only have the rest of this month to take her down there as dogs are banned from May until October,so we are going to make the most of it
Sunday's plans are to have a lie in then we are walking to our quay area which is gorgeous to walk around,it's about a 30 minute walk along the river for us and then we can stroll round the quay and go for coffee and a cake
Our old favourite tea shop has just closed down which I'm quite sad about but there is a bakery with cafe round the corner and my sister says it's worth a visit,it's also dog friendly so we can take the pooch,I actually know one of the ladies who does the baking, she used to help out at the stables and take me out for hacks,I bumped into her in town last week actually so said I would try and pop down to sample some of the baked goods, she puts photos of her bread on Instagram and it looks sooooo tasty
Also I realised today that it's been a year since I started my DMP, I think my first payment went out at the beginning of March 2018,so I've actually managed to last the whole year,I haven't used a credit card once in that year,I also haven't gone overdrawn once in that year and I have saved and bought anything I needed to buy with savings well within my budget,so that's one down and ten to go:TOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941
