My journey to a debt free life

I've had a pleasant day today,I went and met my sister for breakfast and a catch up and we had a nice chat, then DD met me after and brought the stuff for the charity shop so that's all gone now,I still have things I want to get rid of but I'm happy with what's gone so far,it's funny because I've been reading back through my diary and I was decluttering last April and going on about the spare room then,it's only taken me nearly a year :rotfl:
I still haven't found the tool I need for the tap but my sisters husband is really good at DIY and has all the tools so she is going to mention it to him when he comes home at the weekend so hopefully he will come and do it,I think it's a safer bet than me having a go,I know I could technically do it but I just don't think I will be strong enough to unscrew the nut on the tap,I will get him to show me how it's done though so next time I can try it myself
I've also been on the hunt for some loose leaf Rooibos tea recently and chant find any anywhere, DD bought me a Suki teapot with a built in infuser,I only drink Rooibos tea and normally end up buying teabags but I would like to use my teapot instead, nowhere here sells loose leaf Rooibos tea,I looked online and found TickTock tea for 1.79 for a box I think it was 100g but I'm not sure, that's really cheap but wth postage it comes to £4 something:eek:,I love my tea but I'm not sure it's worth paying that much for, they sell it in Whittards but it's £6.50 in there for 100g:eek:,I think I'm going to have to check out all the independent health food stores to see if they have it
I originally started drinking it because it's naturally decaf and I was told that a caffeine free diet was better for people with Fibro,it didn't make any difference at all but when I tried to go back to drinking black tea it tasted disgusting,I don't even like the smell of it,it's tastes really bitter to me now
Sadly I'm back at work tomorrow but I have enjoyed my three days off, I could get used to working one long day and an early a week, shame I can't afford to actually do it though:(Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
I truly understand your stress and painic regarding your debts, I was made redundant 7 years ago and was in £14,000 of debt before I was working again and a much more recent that I started to bring the debt down to a manageable level (£2000 left to clear). If I can do it I'm sure you can.
If you listed your debts & out goings we could give some advice0 -

Hi,was this comment meant for for my diary or was it a mistake,I only ask because I'm not panicking about my debt and it's being sorted out because I am in a DMP with Stepchange!Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Happy Saturday everyone, what a change in the weather again,it was cold and miserable here today,I did a load of washing last night to peg out this morning and I couldn't because it's been drizzling all day:mad:
My sister and brother in law came up this morning and he mended my tap :j:j it was really hard to get the tap undone so I'm glad he did it because I wouldn't have been strong enough, the tap is working ok now but the bolt inside is wearing out, this can be replaced bit to be honest I would rather replace the taps, they are really old,my brother in law says he can do it for me,so when I get paid I'm going to buy some taps,I found some for £14.99 on EBay,he is also going to replace the pipe to the hot tap so it's the same as the one on the cold tap, this will mean it's got an inline valve on it so I can isolate that tap if I ever need to,it's so much easier than having to turn the main water supply off,he has also offerd to mend the front door handle so I just have to find one,he would have don't it today but we don't have the old handle as it fell down the hole under the front door:rotfl:
I also met my mum for lunch today,DD came too and we had a really nice time
This evening I've just been lolling about on the settee looking at some gardening magazine my mum gave me,Im full of motivation to get out and tidy the garden now,she also gave me some free verbena and poppy seeds,so I'm going to have a go at planting them
Tomorrow is a work day so I'm out all day, we are short staffed tomorrow so I'm hoping it won't be as busy as it was when I left on Friday,I've also emailed my boss asking for Wednesday off so I can use up some more of my AL,she wasn't in on Friday and I'm not there on Monday so I won't see her,if she doesn't get back to me on Monday I will have to phone up,if I get Wednesday I will have Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday off which will be like a mini holiday so m keeping my fingers crossed
In other news I'm still waiting for my water bill,my sister says she as had hers last week,so I'm giving it another week and then I'm going to contact them,I have a vague memory of opting out of paper bills but can't remember if that was for the water or the energy supplier,I went on the website but can't remember my log in details so I will have to phone them,I would have thought they would have emailed me though and I haven't had an email from them eitherOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
Great job on the spare room, OBL. There is a bit of stuff building up in ours from a project Mr f is doing, which seems to have stalled. Your progress is making me want to crack on with the ongoing clear out of my little HQ home office room. Too busy with veggie garden plans today though. I need a rainy day for catching up on indoor jobs.. Great idea potentially about getting a student. Nicer for them to stay in a proper home, I should think, & a bit of extra income.

Why does the sun always shine when I'm at work😢😢😢it was such a lovely day here today and I was stuck inside for 12 hours:mad:,I'm hoping it's going to be as nice tomorrow so I can get my washing dried outside
Work wasn't too bad today although I was playing catch up with some jobs because there was no HCA in yesterday, I managed to get everything done though and now have two days off,I haven't heard from my boss so I'm going to phone her tomorrow to see if I can have Wednesday off
I also got a lift home so was home by 8.30 :j
I have plans to do lots of jobs tomorrow, hopefully I will have the energy to do it all but we will see ,I've got
Washing
Ironing
Polishing
Hoovering
Clean out Eric
Clean out the chickens
Change my bed
If the sun is shining I might not do any of that and go and do some bits in the garden instead:rotfl:Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -
